Daniel Radcliffe loves his new status as a Muggle Dad! The sensational actor may no longer be a Hogwarts star, but raising a child with Erin Darke is all the action the entertainer needs.
The TV personality stole the world's heart at the tender age of twelve with his exceptional performance as the titular character in the "Harry Potter" franchise. The former child star's role in the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's books paved the way for his successful career.
Thanks to the industry, the 33-year-old found the love of his life and welcomed a baby with his longtime girlfriend. Although their first child together arrived months earlier, the proud father recently revealed his offspring's sex and his experiences with parenthood.
Daniel Radcliffe Gushes About Life As A First-time Dad & How It Affects His Career
After keeping fans guessing the gender and name of his child with Drake, the "Horns" star has answered one of these burning questions. During an interview with ET Online, the Londoner revealed for the first time that he had welcomed a son with his stunning girlfriend.
The baby boy marked multiple milestones in the couple's lives as he was their first child together as an item. Reflecting on the life-changing experience as a new dad, the BAFTA Award nominee noted it had been a mix of good emotions.
"It's great. It's crazy and intense, but he's wonderful, and Erin is amazing -- it's a real privilege also to have this time with him," the TV personality raved, noting that he was grateful to be able to spend quality time with his family.
"I was always going to take some time off, which not everyone is able to do, and so I'm able to kind of just be here with him a lot, which is lovely," Radcliffe continued before adding: "So, we're having a great time."
The first-time dad appeared to be enjoying all the magical moments with his son so much that he did not want to miss any memorable experiences with the boy. According to the 33-year-old, he would prioritize the baby moving forward in his career.
"I think it certainly will," the Critics' Choice Award winner said of fatherhood affecting his time as a movie star. "It hasn't really yet affected things, but I really like spending time with him."
The former child star then confessed, "And I think I'm gonna miss him when I go back to work later in the year," before explaining that he would be reducing his workload to accommodate his need to be with his little bundle of joy.
"So, I will definitely be, I think, a bit more selective -- not more selective, I've always been selective, but I think I'll probably work a little bit less for the next few years," the Londoner chimed.
On the bright side, fans do not have to worry about the "A Young Doctor's Notebook" star's early retirement as Radcliffe clarified, "I'll never be stopping. I don't think that's good for me either."
The Broadway Star & His Longtime Girlfriend Seemingly Announced Their Child's Arrival With An Outing
As stated above, the Glamour Award recipient and his lover welcomed their baby boy months earlier. The duo secretly brought their son into the world and were spotted enjoying a stroll as a family of three in April, barely a month after Drake's pregnancy was confirmed.
Although the pair did not announce their baby's arrival, their public outing might have been their way of sharing the good news. In the pictures taken by paparazzi, the lovebirds were seen strolling the streets of New York with the actor pushing the newborn's pram.
For the outing, the first-time parents donned casual ensembles with the "Equus" star going incognito. The 33-year-old wore a protective facemask and a blue baseball cap over a charcoal hoodie, grey graphic T-shirt, and khaki trousers.
Meanwhile, Darke wore a black tee over denim jeans with a green corduroy coat and bright orange boots. She topped off the look with sunglasses, walking closely behind her beau with an open bag.
The pair's son came over a decade after the entertainers began dating in 2012. Looking back at their relationship timeline, the Hollywood sensations met on the set of "Kill Your Darlings." They had a powerful first connection that blossomed into a real-life relationship after playing onscreen love interests.
Speculations about their romance began in January 2013 when sources claimed the duo were affectionate at the Sundance Film Festival. Later that October, Radcliffe confirmed their relationship on "Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen" and the rest is fairytale history.
