Mick Jagger And Melanie Hamrick Are Engaged
Mick Jagger has been a symbol of rock 'n' roll rebellion and an embodiment of timeless charisma since the inception of The Rolling Stones in the 1960s. Over the years, Jagger has been known for his high-profile relationships and numerous romantic flings, but his connection with Melanie Hamrick has stood the test of time.
The couple first met in 2014 when Hamrick was still performing with the American Ballet Theatre. Their relationship flourished, and they welcomed a son, Devereaux, in 2016. Despite the significant age difference, Jagger and Hamrick have maintained a strong bond, supporting each other through various personal and professional endeavors.
According to The Mirror, friends close to Hamrick have revealed that the couple has taken their relationship to a new height. She recently admitted to being engaged to Jagger during a recent trip to New York.
"Melanie was at the American Ballet Theatre and telling her friends she was engaged to Mick," a source told the news outlet.
"She was unequivocal. Her ring is an engagement ring, and she is now his fiancée. Her family also understands them to be engaged and are thrilled," the insider added.
Mick Jagger Doesn't Plan To Get Married Soon
Contrary to expectations, the source who spoke to The Mirror also disclosed that The Rolling Stones frontman has no plans to walk down the aisle anytime soon.
Speculations about Jagger's engagement to Hamrick began to circulate after she was spotted wearing a sparkling ring during a recent public appearance. The news quickly spread like wildfire, leaving fans and media outlets excited over the prospect of another high-profile wedding.
"There are no plans for a wedding, but it means a lot to Melanie to be engaged – that is what she has been saying. All her friends are happy for her," the source shared.
Melanie Hamrick Previously Played Down Their Engagement
According to The Mirror, the First Position writer previously denied the engagement rumors, referring to the ring as a mere "promise ring" during a recent sighting with Jagger.
"I have to giggle because did Mick give me the ring? Yes," she told the news outlet. "Is it for that finger? Yes. But are we like, h***y teenagers where we're giving each other... In my mind, it's a promise ring. We'll be immature and call it a promise ring."
Hamrick was also quizzed about marrying the rock 'n' roll legend.
She replied, "I don't know, I'm kind of, like, a live-in-the-moment type of person, so who knows."
Mick Jagger's Past Relationships
According to the Daily Mail, the singer had a brief relationship with actress and singer Marsha Hunt, with whom he shares his eldest child, daughter Karis, 52.
Jagger's first marriage occurred in 1971 when he tied the knot with Nicaraguan actress and activist Bianca Pérez-Mora Macías Jagger. They had a daughter together named Jade.
After eight tumultuous years, Jagger and Bianca decided to part ways, officially divorcing in 1979. Their separation was not without its controversies, as it became known for its publicized legal battles and the tabloid attention it attracted.
Jagger had several high-profile relationships following his divorce, including a long-term partnership with model Jerry Hall. Despite a symbolic wedding ceremony in Bali in 1990, the courts ultimately declared their union invalid, leading to their separation in 1999. Jagger and Hall had four children: two daughters; Elizabeth, 39; Georgia, 32; and two sons; James, 37; and Gabriel, 25.
He also fathered a son, Lucas, with Brazilian model Luciana Gimenez Morad, with whom he reportedly cheated on Hall.
