A temporary harassment order issued against "The Flash" star Ezra Miller was lifted after a Friday court hearing, per Variety. Last year, Miller was accused by a woman named Shannon Guin of harassing her family and also acting inappropriately toward her child.

The Daily Beast, who spoke with the 12-year-old as well as a neighbor who witnessed Miller's alleged erratic and angered behavior, wrote that the actor "made the child uncomfortable by hugging them and pressing their body closely against them."

Although no criminal charges were ever filed against the actor, the allegations, along with the harassment order, did them no favors as they were already the subject of controversy due to several other reports on their problematic behavior at the time.

The "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" star had been accused of breaking into their neighbor's home in Vermont to steal expensive bottles of liquor. Although they claimed the incident was a misunderstanding, Miller took a plea deal which came with one year of probation and a $500 fine.

Taking to Instagram to express their happiness over the news of the harassment order being lifted, Miller wrote, "I'm encouraged by today's outcome and very grateful at this moment to everyone who has stood beside me and sought to ensure that this egregious misuse of the protective order system was halted."

They continued, "Protective orders are meant to provide safety for individuals, families and children who are in danger. They are not meant to be used as weapons by those seeking attention or fleeting tabloid fame or some sort of personal vengeance when there are people in true and dire need of these services."

Miller then decried how "unjustly and directly targeted by an individual who the facts have shown has a history of such manipulative and destructive action."

Still, in their statement, Miller proceeded to slam media coverage of the story, claiming they "recklessly" spread false claims about it. The actor also pleaded with news outlets to stop "chasing clicks."

They said on Instagram, "I implore those members of the media who have recklessly spread false claims and failed to accurately report the truth and context of this story, to hold themselves to a higher standard and take the time to find the facts, rather than chasing the clicks."

Miller then shared "a personal note," updating fans on their well-being. The actor stated that they are still working on preserving their "wellness" and trying to undo "the collateral damage this ordeal has brought upon me and those close to me."

Miller had, earlier this year, tendered an apology for their behavior. Via Variety, the actor noted that they had started receiving treatment for their "complex mental health issues." The statement also read, "I want to apologize to everyone that I've alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe, and productive stage in my life."

Despite Miller's public apology and their decision to stay under the radar in the weeks leading up to the premiere of their superhero flick, "The Flash," the movie has witnessed a terrible turnout and is currently pacing to become one of Warner Bros.' biggest box office bombs in recent years.
