Tom Schwartz Almost Moved Out Of Los Angeles
Tom Schwartz recently spoke to People magazine about the heavy public backlash from Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss' affair scandal. He revealed that he almost moved out of Los Angeles because of the criticism of his alleged involvement in hiding the Scandoval affair.
The "Vanderpump Rules" star spoke about wanting a fresh start for himself, free from all the noise. He said, "I had this sort of mounting urge to just pack up my stuff and move, I don't know where — not run away, but just move."
Schwartz, who's been busy with life after finalizing his divorce from Katie Maloney, also spoke about needing a break. He said he really wanted an opportunity to "disconnect" and take some time away from his phone, the internet, and all social media platforms.
When Schwartz eventually got an invite to Fox's "Stars on Mars" reality show, it was a chance for a break. He was cast on the reality show alongside celebrities like Porsha Williams, Lance Armstrong, and Tallulah Willis. He said, "It couldn't have come at a better time."
Tom Schwartz's Unplugging Experience Was 'Restorative'
Schwartz further said that he'd "romanticized" the concept of disconnecting until it was actually time to do so. He said, "But, once it came time to sort of part ways with my phone, it was scary… I'm scared of how dependent I am on my cell phone in every facet of life. So, it was nice to take a little break from that."
The bar owner said his time off the internet was eventually "rejuvenating and restorative" for his mind and body. He stated, "I got a massive infusion of levity and an adventure, and it was kind of just what the doctor ordered."
Tom Schwartz Has Taken A Break From Tom Sandoval
During a recent appearance on the "When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany" podcast, Schwartz spoke about his relationship with Sandoval. He spoke about "taking a break" from their friendship right now and said it's hard "not to be resentful" towards his business partner.
He said, "He made a big mess and left for us to clean up, businesses and such. It's hard for us not to be resentful. I'm taking a break from Tom right now, I haven't spoken to him in a while. I'm happy for him, I know he's very passionate about the band."
Schwartz explained that he's annoyed by Sandoval's "lack of remorse" about the whole scandal and feels "exploited." He said he knows the musician truly regrets the situation but "doesn't do a good job of showing that." He added, "He's gotta drop the ego man, hard humility. When you have a full blown affair, your side of the story ceases to exist."
Schwartz concluded by saying that Sandoval has to "lose the ego'" to apologize for his actions truly. He said, "I said to him after the reunion, "Dude after all of the s**t you put us through, you better marry this girl."
He Doesn't Know Tom Sandoval & Raquel Leviss Are Still Together
Schwartz also revealed that he really has "no clue" if Sandoval and Leviss still have their romantic relationship. He also shared that he "couldn't be happier" that he's in the dark about their current situation.
Earlier this year, Sandoval revealed that he and Leviss had taken a break from their relationship after the scandal became public news in March. The singer featured on the "Howie Mandel Does Stuff" podcast and said they're "kind of taking a break." He added, "We're not putting any label on it."
When asked by Mandel if he and Leviss still had a friends-with-benefits relationship, Sandoval emphatically denied it. He insisted that they had decided to remain "good friends" amidst the controversy.
