In the wake of Madonna's hospitalization, Dolly Parton has emphasized that she has no plans to tour again!
Fans of the famed singer-songwriter will be heartbroken to discover she does not want to go on the road again after a long-lived successful career. The "Islands in the Stream" hitmaker would rather be in her home in Nashville, especially after she learned of Madonna's recent admission into the intensive unit following her rigorous training before her anniversary tour.
Dolly Parton's Hatred For Exercising Has Kept Her Away From The Big Stage
After enjoying the success of having a music career that has spanned over six decades, Parton wants to be home. The "There Was Jesus" vocalist spilled the tea to multiple media outlets, including MailOnline, during the press conference of her upcoming memoir "Behind The Seams: My Life in Rhinestones."
During the event, she admitted that the more advanced an artist ages, the more challenging it would be for them to prepare for tours. In the words of the Grammy award-winning singer:
"It's always been taxing , the reason I don't tour now is because I don't want to be that far away from home. We're getting older and I've got a lot of business that I do and the movies that I do. So, we're close to home and I just really do prepare."
The 77-year-old explained that she had canceled the conference once before due to her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, taking ill. She emphasized that many things required planning and did "not plan to tour at this time."
Continuing the conversation, Parton credited "good doctors, good lighting, and good makeup" for her evident beauty as she approaches 80. The "Jolene" hitmaker has had to rely on the aforementioned' helpers' because:
"I hate exercise like I hated school. I do all my hard work now, but I try and diet the best I can and I do the low carb but if I see something I really want I'm gonna eat it. Because I'm so little but I still have a farmer's appetite. I do what I have to do, I do my daily squats."
The update comes amid Madonna's recent health scare, which forced the 64-year-old to postpone her highly-anticipated 'Celebration Tour' later this year. The "4 Minutes" collaborator was reportedly rushed to the "hospital and intubated after being found unresponsive" on Saturday, June 24. She's now recovering at home.
The "Like A Prayer" vocalist, who has continued recovery in her home, began rehearsals for her gigantic tour two months ago. To that end, she has worked out six times a week with a professional personal trainer to keep her "dancer's physique." Speaking on the hospital incident, a member of Madonna's family disclosed:
"She has not been living as healthy a life as she should be for her age, and she has been wearing herself thin over the past couple of months."
Before the unfortunate occurrence, Madonna, famous for her "punishing" fitness routine, was scheduled to travel across the world for a jam-packed 84 days.
The 'Like A Virgin' Composer Was Supposed To Go On Her Worldwide Tour In July
Shedding light on the situation, The Blast shared that the mother-of-six landed in the hospital less than three weeks before the kickoff of her now-postponed tour. Her manager, Guy Oseary, confirmed the news, writing on social media:
"On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows."
An insider divulged that Madonna "is out of the ICU and recovering." The "Material Girl" singer's tour was set to run from July 15, 2023, to January 30, 2024. It is her 12th tour in her decades-long career, and she had heavily promoted it on social media, with her last post being June 23.
In the update, the "Frozen on Fire" songstress showed viewers that she was becoming concert ready with a root touch-up. Luckily, the superstar's eldest daughter, Lourdes Leon, has not remained by her beloved mother's bedside while recovering at home.
