Nicki Minaj has sent her fans into a frenzy with some major announcements!

The acclaimed Trinidadian-born rapper, singer, and songwriter announced the title of her upcoming fifth studio album on social media. Unfortunately, her fans will have to exercise some patience as the release of the project, which she promised would be "worth the wait," has been moved from its initial October 20 date to a later one in November.

Minaj has revealed that her highly anticipated new album has an official name — "Pink Friday 2," suggesting it will be a sequel to her 2010 debut album, "Pink Friday." Taking to Instagram over 15 hours ago, the "Super Freaky Girl" rapper uploaded a pic of her in her famous Barbie hairdo and matching high-heeled booties.

She complemented the pink fringe-cut hairstyle with a stunning silver ballet-style minidress with a plunging neckline, skin-toned pantyhose, and silver accessories. The "Bang Bang" hitmaker also sported a serious look and a perfect face glam featuring false lashes and pink-tainted lips.

"Dear Barbz, I've been trying to find the right time to tell you this for a few days. Due to some really exciting news that I'll share with you guys @ a later time, I've shifted the album date just a tad bit. Trust me, it'll be WELL WORTH THE WAIT," the 2022 MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award recipient began in the caption.

Continuing, she noted that since she was "shifting the date just a tad," she wanted to provide her 223 million followers "a tiny SIP of some more album tea" to avoid getting "cussed out." The mom-of-one added:

"MY NEW ALBUM WILL BE RELEASED ON 11.17.23 ? and she shall be called: Pink Friday 2 ?."

Minaj then gushed about her gratitude for the "years of support & love" her fans have showered her with before concluding, "Nonetheless, you. will. love. this. album. I will give tour deets closer to that time, but obviously, the tour will start around the first quarter of 2024. I'll also share the REAL album cover at a later date."

As mentioned above, the internet immediately went into a frenzy, with celebrities and fans fawning over the announcement in the comment section. "we are ready and grateful ??," singer Ariana Grande declared. At the same time, The Crayon Case creator, Supa_cent, effused, "?????? this bout to shake the industry. Can't wait."

Television personality Phaedra Parks commented, "We stay ready for you @nickiminaj Let's goooo Barbz ???," and Internet personality Aoki Lee Simmons vowed, "We will wait and we will wait patiently!!! ❤️❤️❤️.” 

"Omg!!!! ? it's like going back in time. Playing all your albums over and over. It's like experiencing all of that nostalgia, never gets old ? we love you Queen ??," one fan wrote. A second person claimed, "I have seriously not been this excited for an album in years since like your last pink Friday drop ?? ❤️ can't waaaaait !!"

Others mentioned wanting to see Grande and Lady Gaga perform their magic on the impending project. Amid the celebrations, it is worth noting that "Pink Friday 2" will drop five years after the release of Minaj's fourth project, "Queen," which climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Per The Blast, her previous studio albums, including "Pink Friday," 2012's "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," and 2014's "The Pinkprint," all reached top-five positions on the all-genre albums chart, with "Pink Friday" and "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" peaking at No. 1.

Minaj had previously earned one of the most significant accolades of her career when Billboard crowned her as the 'Greatest Female Rapper of All Time' in February. At the time, The Blast reported that she had bagged the No. 10 position in the publication's "Top 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time" list.

The countdown saw the People's Choice Awards winner being the only woman in the top ten list, which featured famous rappers like Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Tupac, Eminem, and The Notorious B.I.G. The news quickly went viral, with multiple fans raving on social media.

One person uploaded an image of Minaj on the publication's official countdown poster alongside the text, "Legend icon queen of all queens." A second netizen wrote, "oh now they wanna give her flowers" above a GIF of the "Princess Diana" songstress' eyes darting around while holding her phone.

A third person further claimed that Minaj had "impacted culture for decades; she will always be the greatest female rapper idk," and a fourth tweeted, "now THIS is giving credit where credits is due."
