Nanny Faye Chrisley, the matriarch of the Chrisley family and fan-favorite from the reality TV series "Chrisley Knows Best," has recently opened up about her emotional struggle as her son, Todd Chrisley, serves his prison sentence.

In a candid interview, Nanny Faye revealed that she is currently in a "real dark place" due to the ongoing challenges her family is facing.

Todd and Julie were sentenced to a combined 19 years imprisonment for tax evasion and bank fraud but have maintained their innocence and are set to appeal the verdict.

Nanny Faye, known for her vibrant personality and humorous antics on the "Chrisley Knows Best" show, has always been a source of strength and support for her family. However, according to Page Six, her son's legal troubles have taken a heavy emotional toll on the sprightly grandmother.

In her heartfelt interview on her granddaughter Lindsie Chrisley's "Southern Tea" podcast, she shared that her son and daughter-in-law were wrongfully accused and how it has impacted her.

"I always say that God is in control of everything. Everything is done for a reason," Nanny Faye said.

She added, "I am in a real dark place. But I know that there's going to be light at the end of the tunnel. And we are going to come out bigger and better because what they are accused of is wrong."

According to Page Six, Nanny Faye also expressed her unwavering belief in her son's innocence and remained convinced that he would ultimately receive justice. Despite the legal outcome, she firmly stood by Todd and his wife while maintaining that they had been wrongly accused.

The 79-year-old matriarch made it clear that she wholeheartedly believes in her son's integrity and compared the situation to Daniel's in the bible when he was divinely saved after being thrown into the lion's den.

"That's what's going to happen to them. And I believe it within my heart," Nanny Faye said.

Todd was sentenced to 12 years behind bars at a Florida prison, while Julie will serve her 7-years sentence at a Kentucky penitentiary. The couple have maintained their innocence and will reportedly appeal their convictions.

In a recent revelation, Savannah Chrisley, daughter of Todd and Julie, shared that her mother is having a "harder" time in prison than her father and is scared about her circumstances.

Savannah provided insights into her mother's emotional state during a May episode of her "Unlocked With Savannah Chrisley" podcast, shedding light on the difficulties Julie is currently facing.

"It's definitely harder on her, I think, than my dad," the 25-year-old reality star shared, adding elsewhere that her mom is "scared."

"She's just staying busy. She's trying to do anything and everything, take classes — everything known to man that she can do, she does," Savannah noted, referencing Julie's lifestyle in prison.

She added, "You know my mom. Like, she walks in a room, if something needs to be done, she just starts doing it. And, so, she's trying to stay busy."
