'Only Murders In The Building' Season Three Receives Premiere Date

The Hulu sensation "Only Murders In The Building" officially has a premiere date for season three!

The Hulu original series starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez has received quite a bit of press coverage since its 2021 premiere. The 'cozy mystery' series was nominated for 17 Emmy Awards, and took home three at the 2022 ceremony!

Buzz for season three began earlier this year when it was revealed that the trio would have several notable names joining in on the shenanigans! The Blast has covered several aspects of the upcoming season, including the reported possibility of a musical episode.

Fans are closer to being able to spend the summer at the Arconia Hotel; the premiere date for season three was announced on Wednesday!

In January, news broke via Gomez's Instagram account that Meryl Streep had joined the cast, per our report.

The celebratory clip featured the trio along with Paul Rudd, who joined the cast in season two.

Martin would also commemorate Streep joining the cast with a black and white Instagram photo!

With new star-studded additions to a cast already packed with legends, the possibilities for season three are limitless! Although the details surrounding the upcoming season have been kept largely under wraps, the possibility of a musical episode seems to be in the realm of possibility!

According to our earlier report, composers Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman spoke to Variety and teased the possibility of a musical episode coming to fruition. Shaiman told the publication, "We've worked on the next season of 'Only Murders In The Building.' We're not allowed to say more than that, but you can probably do the math," he hinted.

The 77-year-old "Saturday Night Live" alum may have let the cat out of the bag months before the premiere date was officially revealed!

Attendees in the audience of Martin's "You Won't Believe What They Look Like Today!" show in Orlando were in for a treat; Martin revealed season three's premiere date to the audience with Short at his side!

Two audience members recalled to Variety that Martin had dropped the news while the duo was "delivering updates on what they were up to recently, showing a picture of them alongside co-star Selena Gomez and two new cast members for season 3, Oscar and Emmy winner Meryl Streep and Golden Globe nominee Paul Rudd..."

Naturally, the longtime besties, who played rivals in the 1991 remake of "Father Of The Bride" and its 1995 sequel, managed to hilariously announce the big date!

After Martin reportedly said, "Catch the new season August 8th," Short followed up with, "Our show is like Steve trying to pee- it streams for 33 minutes." (per The Blast)

The official word from the "Only Murders In The Building" Twitter account came on Wednesday afternoon.

Featuring a photo of the trio, the tweet reads, "Who’s ready for Season 3? Aug 8 ?️‍♂️?️‍♀️?️‍♂️ #OMITB" The official Instagram account reveals the same message!

Gomez, 30, also commemorated the big reveal on her own Instagram.

"Some of my favorite people.." Gomez began in the caption. 'Only Murders In The Building' season 3 is coming august 8th!!!!"

The official Instagram for the show commented, "Hey, I know them!"

The account for Gomez's Rare Beauty commented, "YESSS"

The official Hulu Instagram joined in on the fun, too; "what a coincidence, these are some of our fave people toooo."
