Lupita Nyong'o is no stranger to adventurous food but this time, she might have taken things a tad too far, or so say some of her not-so-delighted fans.

In a video, Nyong'o, dressed in a blue dress with a tropical print and wearing a straw hat looks a tan green around the gills and she gets ready to dive into some new food. She starts the video by saying, "It's gonna be too crunchy. Oh my god."

As strains of Mexican music play in the background, Nyong'o explains, "I'm eating some Mexican Chapulines, also known as grasshoppers."

After some crunchy bugs are sprinkled on what seems to be authentic guacamole, the "Black Panther" star takes some and spoons it on her black corn nachos as she sings out, "There it is. Oh my god, it's gonna be crunchy. It's gonna be very crunchy."

She takes a bite, rather gingerly, after counting "Un, dos tres" and after chewing some, finally announces, "Ya, that tastes about right!"

Fans wondered,

"Can’t tell if about right means it was good or it was just as disgusting as she was expecting."

"Dead panned; 'That tastes about right' ????"

Then again, she did eat ants last summer, and found them "really good!" Scroll down for the crunchy grasshopper's video.

"Nahhhhh man. I was ok until I saw them sprinkle the ???"

"Couldn’t watch you eat that, had to close my eyes."

"Thank you My favorite Lupita… for trying for all of us folk who will proudly say 'NOPE' ?"

"Why eat it though? Why?"

For the people who appreciated these, err, crunchy delights, it was all good.

"I LOVE grasshoppers!!!! Yum ? Y’all don’t understand!"

"Y’all they taste like chips, literally."

"Visit Liberia next summer so you can have termites, AKA, bugabugs. So yummy."

This summer, we seem to be seeing a rather bold avatar of Lupita Nyong'o as she first chose to go bald (pictured above), earlier in May.

Lupita Nyong'o BOLD Tony Awards Look Was Resistance Art

Lupita Nyong'o wore a "naked" breastplate at the Tony Awards

Earlier this month, Lupita Nyong'o swiped the floor at the Tony Awards wearing a silver breastplate crafted from her body, by Pakistani designer Misha Japanwala, who described her collection as, "The word ‘beghairat’ (translation: shameless) has become an anchor in my practice; thousands of people have used it to describe me and the work I create, in an effort to insult and shame me into silence. In reclaiming the word and understanding that the rejection of others’ narrow definitions of shame is one of the most powerful tools for liberation, I’ve come to deeply appreciate and respect what living a life of shamelessness truly means."

Both Naomi Campbell and Janelle Monáe appreciated her look, but many on Instagram derided her look, saying there was nothing that said being naked removed "shame" from bodies.

That said, Nyong'o was not there to please the masses but did what she felt was right for her, and one fan voiced it just right, saying, "Your wearing of this resistance art presents a kind of corporeal projective test to everyone who sees it. The comments tell the world about the commenters, not about you. In their effort to shame, criticize, belittle, and control you, many are publicly disclosing their discomfort with the human body, and especially women's bodies."

Here's Lupita, a tad divided over crunchy bugs!
