Madonna is smiling all the way to the bank!
New reports have claimed that the Queen of Pop earned a few extra million after she sold her luxury mansion to a cryptocurrency billionaire recently. The “Like a Virgin” hitmaker had first purchased the gorgeous 12,500 square feet property from the chart-topping singer, The Weeknd, in 2019.
Madonna’s California Estate Is Now Owned By An Asian Crypto Boss
Madonna has raked in nearly $4 million after officially selling the Hidden Hills, California property she purchased from The Weeknd. The “Material Girl” songstress sold the luxury home for $23 million, which earned her about $3.7 million in profit since she bought it from the Canadian hitmaker for $19.3.
The 64-year-old singer had initially put the estate on the market for $26 million before lowering the asking price to $23.5 million, TMZ divulged while breaking the news on Monday. She then shaved off another $500,000 during negotiations with the eventual buyer — Korean cryptocurrency billionaire Kim Hyoung-nyon, bringing the final selling price to $23 million, a fee both parties were happy with.
The mansion, which Madonna sold through The Beverly Hills Estates’ agent Trevor Wright, is well worth the cost as it sits west of the San Fernando Valley and north of Calabasas. Sprawled across three acres, the estate has nine bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and multiple amenities, including a movie theater, saltwater pool, library, wine cellar, and musical lounge.
Before she sold the stunning mansion, the “Back That Up To The Beat” singer had put her infamous 1992 “Sex” book up for auction. Per The Blast, the book was released a day after she launched her fifth album, “Erotica,” in October 1992.
Not only did the publication cause a dramatic change in popular culture, but it also made it to the top of the New York Times Best Seller list, making a lasting impression on audiences worldwide thanks to its boundary-pushing and explicit imagery.
Madonna began teasing fans with her plans to auction images from the iconic book for the first time as part of its anniversary celebration last year. Since she had booked the famous auction house, Christie’s, for the gig, they made an exciting announcement on her behalf in May, writing:
“Christie’s is pleased to announce its participation in the ongoing anniversary celebration initiated by Madonna and Saint Laurent’s re-issue of SEX the boundary-pushing 1992 photography book by Madonna and Steven Meisel.”
The “4 Minutes” singer celebrated the announcement by giving her fans sneak peeks at some of the pictures going on auction on Instagram. She then explained in the caption that proceeds from the auction will go toward her charity, Raising Malawi, a non-profit organization “dedicated to transforming the lives of children in Malawi through health, education and community support.”
The live sale, dubbed “Madonna x Meisel – The Sex Photographs,” will feature over 40 unique works presented as “editions of one” and is set to hold on October 6, 2023, in New York.
The Golden Globe Awards Recipient Praised Her Father For Teaching Her How To Survive
During this year’s Father’s Day holiday, Madonna lauded her dad Silvio Anthony “Tony” Ciccone, for impacting her with remarkable lifelong skill. As reported by The Blast, the “A League of Their Own” actress uploaded two images to Instagram, starting with a selfie showcasing her rocking plum-colored lips and an intense blue-eyed gaze in the bathroom.
The second slide featured a throwback shot of her 92-year-old father holding a cigarette and looking straight at the camera. The “Swept Away” star’s caption opened with a message of inclusivity that highlighted the significance of celebrating the diversity of fatherhood, writing, “Happy Father’s Day to. All the Dad’s out there!!! She’s, He’s, Them’s and They’s!!”
“But Most of All to my Father -Silvio-who once told me he was gonna go until the wheels fell off!! S.A. M. E. Thanks for your unrelenting work ethic and Love and for refusing to spoil me in any wAy. You taught me how to be a Survivor! ♥️ Forever Grateful. But also really tired…… xxxxxxxx,” the Grammy Awards winner wrapped up.
The update brought Madonna’s fans into the comments, where they did not hesitate to praise her father for his role in bringing up such a talented multi-hyphenate. It has also earned over 226k likes since it was posted on June 18.
