Madonna's California Estate Is Now Owned By An Asian Crypto Boss

Madonna has raked in nearly $4 million after officially selling the Hidden Hills, California property she purchased from The Weeknd. The "Material Girl" songstress sold the luxury home for $23 million, which earned her about $3.7 million in profit since she bought it from the Canadian hitmaker for $19.3.

The 64-year-old singer had initially put the estate on the market for $26 million before lowering the asking price to $23.5 million, TMZ divulged while breaking the news on Monday. She then shaved off another $500,000 during negotiations with the eventual buyer — Korean cryptocurrency billionaire Kim Hyoung-nyon, bringing the final selling price to $23 million, a fee both parties were happy with.

The mansion, which Madonna sold through The Beverly Hills Estates' agent Trevor Wright, is well worth the cost as it sits west of the San Fernando Valley and north of Calabasas. Sprawled across three acres, the estate has nine bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and multiple amenities, including a movie theater, saltwater pool, library, wine cellar, and musical lounge.

Before she sold the stunning mansion, the "Back That Up To The Beat" singer had put her infamous 1992 "Sex" book up for auction. Per The Blast, the book was released a day after she launched her fifth album, "Erotica," in October 1992.

Not only did the publication cause a dramatic change in popular culture, but it also made it to the top of the  New York Times Best Seller list, making a lasting impression on audiences worldwide thanks to its boundary-pushing and explicit imagery.

Madonna began teasing fans with her plans to auction images from the iconic book for the first time as part of its anniversary celebration last year. Since she had booked the famous auction house, Christie's, for the gig, they made an exciting announcement on her behalf in May, writing:

"Christie's is pleased to announce its participation in the ongoing anniversary celebration initiated by Madonna and Saint Laurent's re-issue of SEX the boundary-pushing 1992 photography book by Madonna and Steven Meisel."
