Kevin Federline Slams Rumors He's Trying To Get More Child Support From Britney Spears

On Monday, Kevin Federline shut down rumors that he is trying to get more child support from his ex-wife, Britney Spears. The couple was married from 2004 to 2007 and shares two children together: Sean Preston Federline, 17, and Jayden James Federline, 16.

Although initial reports alleged that K-Fed wanted to move his family to Hawaii because his wife, former volleyball player Victoria Prince, had been offered a job there, some Britney fans have speculated that he is only trying to make the move because child support can last up until age 23 in Hawaii, as long as the child is enrolled in an accredited college, university, vocational school, or trade school.

A few weeks after the 41-year-old pop star consented to the move, K-Fed slammed online speculation that he was only moving to Hawaii in order to try to get more child support out of the singer and dismissed it as "stupid."

On Monday, Kevin Federline spoke to paparazzi who asked him about the allegations outside of a McDonald's in a video obtained by Page Six. Although fans believe that K-Fed is just trying to get more child support out of the singer, K-Fed responded by saying, "A lot of people say a lot of stupid things."

Kevin also did not answer questions about a lawsuit from a private school that two of his younger children attend. The Blast obtained exclusive court documents that show that the school is suing the couple for $15,593.00 for alleged nonpayment of tuition.

According to the legal filing, on or about May 16, 2019, the private school claims that the couple “breached the agreement by failing to pay for services which had been provided on credit at their special instance and request.”

In the last week of May, K-Fed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, released a statement saying that Britney had until the end of the month to give her formal consent and allow her two sons to move to Hawaii before they got a judge involved. It was likely that a judge would consent to the move since K-Fed has physical custody of the two boys and it has been reported that Britney hasn't even seen them in over a year.

On May 31, Britney's attorney Mathew Rosengart confirmed that Britney had given her formal approval for the boys to move to Hawaii. In a letter sent to Kaplan and obtained by Page Six, Kaplan noted that Sean will "no longer be a minor" when he turns 18 in September. He also noted that Jayden, at 16, was "nearing the age of maturity."

According to the letter, Rosengart wrote, “To her credit, Britney Spears will not interfere with and consents to the relocation.” He went on to say that he "did not anticipate a dispute" when they were first contacted about the move back in April, over a month before it started making headlines. Rosengart claimed he had urged Kaplan to keep the possibility of a move “private for the sake and dignity of all parties involved, including the children.”

“I was particularly concerned because your client previously — and appallingly — violated their privacy, while egregiously violating Britney’s privacy, by releasing a private video of Britney with her children, which was preceded by a tabloid television interview,” Rosengart wrote, referring to three videos that Kevin posted and then quickly deleted on Instagram. These videos were seemingly filmed by Britney's children without her knowledge.

“It was more than disappointing that you nevertheless chose to publicize this matter, creating unnecessary drama and a false ‘dispute’ by publicly discussing the issue and your letter,” Rosengart continued, adding, “When I called you yesterday to express my dismay that you had done so, you denied doing so. Apparently, you did not realize that [TMZ’s] May 30 story itself literally quotes you as the story’s source.”

Rosengart praised the pop star as “an icon, loved and respected by millions throughout the world.” He called Britney a “loving and supportive mother” who is still “faithfully supporting” her children despite their estrangement. The "Hold Me Closer" singer did not respond directly to the reports on Instagram, but she did share several photos of her children when they were younger.
