The incident occurred during her "Best F'n Night Of My Life" tour concert at The Rooftop at Pier 17, leaving the pop star visibly startled and prompting widespread concern among fans and spectators.

Known for her energetic stage presence and passionate performances, Rexha was entertaining a packed crowd when a person in the audience hurled a cell phone in her direction. The unexpected projectile struck the singer in the face, causing a brief disruption in the show and leaving Rexha momentarily stunned.

Eyewitnesses immediately reported the suspect as security personnel swiftly intervened, escorting the offender out of the venue.

"On Sunday, June 18, 2023, at approximately 2200 hours, police were notified of an assault that occurred at the concert space of Pier 17 located at 89 South Street, within the confines of the 1st Precinct," a spokesperson for the NYPD said, per Daily Mail.

They continued, "A preliminary investigation on scene determined that a 27-year-old male intentionally threw a cell phone at a 33-year-old female performer on stage, striking her about the face."

"The individual was taken into custody on scene and removed to the 1st Precinct for arrest processing. The aided female was removed by EMS to an area hospital in stable condition," the spokesperson added.

Rexha declared that she was "much better" following the shocking incident where she was hit in the face with a cell phone in New York City.

After a fan asked about her recovery from the distressing incident, Rexha took to Twitter to provide an update and assure her followers of her well-being.

"My eye black and blue now but much better!!!! Thank you!!!" she said, alongside a close-up photo of her eye, which was visibly injured and had a plaster on.

In a heartfelt message, she expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support she received and reassured everyone that she was doing better.
