Mod Sun is getting vulnerable about his split from Avril Lavigne in his latest heartbreak anthem.

The "Flames" singer's ex-fiancé and her boyfriend Tyga reportedly went their separate ways a few months after they started dating. Soon after the news of Lavigne and Tyga's separation made rounds around the internet via major blogs, Mod Sun teased a yet-to-be-released track that seemingly addressed his partition with the Canadian superstar.

The "All Night, Every Night" crooner and the "Mobile" songstress got engaged in March 2022, but their relationship hit the rocks and split in February.

Mod Sun Releases Heartbreak Song After Ex Avril Lavigne's Split From Tyga

The 36-year-old musician, whose real name is Derek Ryan Smith, took to his official Instagram account to share a clip of himself in the streets while lip-syncing to his latest single, "Strangers Again." The road was in Paris—where he and the "Complicated" singer got engaged in April 2022.

The short video featured a small portion of the emotional lyrics. "I remember loving you before we ever met / Saw you on a TV, then I met you through a friend," Mod Sun sang as the lyrics flashed on the screen.

The rocker explained in the song that he started talking to the person of interest online, but their relationship went from being strangers to lovers and strangers again. In the caption, the rocker wrote, "From strangers to lovers to strangers again...," adding that when the pre-save for the track hits 20,000, he would immediately release it.

Since the "Need That" artist posted the track on Wednesday, he has yet to confirm whether the way is about his ex-fiancé. However, some fans speculated in the comments that the path might be connected to the "Sk8r B0i" songstress.

One comment read, "I've been an [Avril Lavigne] fan since 2002, but I think she made a big mistake this time... You loved her." "This Is so Avril [laugh emoji]," a second fan pointed out.

Many more praised his new track and were excited to hear the entire song. "I'm excited! I love how it sounds, but I'm sorry about your heartbreak," one commented, while a third commenter opined, "Let's GO!!! Been waiting for this one."

"Love your way of translating real life into art. I hope we can create some art together while we are alive at the same time," a fourth user wrote. Another fan added, "Couldn't be any prouder of you for this one [multiple fire emojis]."

While Lavigne's ex-fiancé might see this as an opportunity to deal with their breakup, she is not losing sleep over her fizzled-out romance with the renowned rapper as the separation was reportedly amicable, and they have no bad blood between them.

Per The Blast, the report of their separation emerged shortly after the "Head Above Water" singer concluded her Love Sux world tour. Throughout the European leg of her time, the 38-year-old proudly showcased an $80K diamond chain necklace gifted to her by the 33-year-old rapper, drawing attention to their relationship.

However, despite their initial public appearances as a couple on tour, the two made a "mutual decision" to conclude their romantic journey with no ill feelings naturally.
