It seems that Hilaria Baldwin is finally ready to respond to comments made by comedian Amy Schumer.

During her new Netflix special, "Emergency Contact," the "Trainwreck" star made fun of Hilaria and her "von Trapp family," alleging that Hilaria and her husband, actor Alec Baldwin, have too many children. She also made fun of Hilaria's "fake" Spanish accent and the "Rust" shooting that resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October 2021.

During her "Emergency Contact" special, which hit the streamer earlier this month, the “Inside Amy Schumer” star joked that the “Hilaria from España” is actually “Hillary from Boston.” Amy told her audience that the mom-of-seven “is in no way Spanish — her parents are not from Spain, no one in her life is from Spain,” in comments transcribed by Page Six.

She also joked about the couple's “von Trapp amount of children,” joking that Hilaria gave them very “Spanish names like Jamón and Croqueta and Flamenco.” Amy insisted that she wasn't trying to “bully a sociopath,” adding that the couple doesn't “give a f—” about appropriating a cultural identity.

“This woman, since she met her husband, has straight-up pretended she is from Spain. And her husband shot someone,” Amy said. “Now stay with me! My point is that neither of them give a f—.” This isn't the first time that she has mocked the couple; during a Las Vegas performance, she revealed that she wanted to make a job about the "Rust" shooting when she hosted the Oscars, but her lawyer did not approve of the joke.

In a Romper interview published on Wednesday, Hilaria responded to the comments, saying that it is “a ridiculous thing to be cruel to another person.” She also hinted that she may keep on expanding her family with the 65-year-old actor, even though they have already welcomed seven children together since tying the knot in 2012.

Although the couple has seven children together, they welcomed their sixth child, a daughter named María Lucía Victoria, known to fans as Marilú, in February 2019 via a surrogate. In her Romper interview, Hilaria revealed that she actually speaks to her surrogate all the time, although she has never revealed her identity for privacy purposes.

Describing her surrogate as "one of those people who loves being pregnant," Hilaria went on to say, “To have that experience of being in the delivery room, and helping her push, and holding onto her leg, and cutting the umbilical cord. It was really meaningful." However, when asked if she loves being pregnant, having done it six times, Hilaria replied, "Not really."

That being said, Hilaria clarified that she does "love giving birth," adding, "This last time around, I pushed her out in a minute! Giving birth is like going down a water slide that’s really scary. And then you get to the bottom, and you’re like, ‘I want to do this again.’”

When asked if she would consider taking birth control to prevent their number of children from getting any higher, Hilaria revealed that she already tried it. “I feel awful when I’m on birth control; it makes me depressed,” she said, adding that her husband is not interested in getting a vasectomy. “Every single time I have a baby, my OB writes down the vasectomy doctor on a Post-it, and I bring it home to Alec,” Hilaria said, adding, “He hasn’t done it yet.”

She went on to say that her youngest daughter, Ilaria, who was born in September 2022,  "is probably, most definitely, almost completely my last baby." However, she did go on to add a small disclaimer, saying, “I’m always afraid to say it. I was putting away my maternity clothes recently and was like, ‘I’m afraid to give them away because then I’ll find out I’m pregnant.’”

Her husband, Alec Baldwin, also left her a gushing tribute. “I admire her, and I have faith in her integrity. She’s incredibly decent, and she’s obviously a beautiful woman. I’m madly in love with her. And she can be a gigantic pain in the *ss sometimes, but that’s marriage. But I feel like I know a lot of friends of mine who get into a routine and everything’s about their kids. Who has more of a reason to make everything about our kids but us with so many, yet we still try to hold onto some time for ourselves.”

The "Supercell" actor went on to say that going out to dinner is usually the only time that the couple gets to spend time alone. “That’s the only time I have her to myself,” he said. “As soon as she comes home and gets in bed with that baby, boom, she’s out.”
