Allison Holker Speaks On Life After Stephen 'tWitch' Boss
Allison's tribute comes after she opened up about her life so far after the death of her husband.
Speaking with People magazine, she shared that she misses the "simple moments" with him, such as cooking dinner together and having "so many random conversations."
"Our love was so real and so loud. We always told people our house was like a choreographed dance," the dancer remarked about her connection with Stephen.
Reflecting further on her late husband, Allison shared that "no one had any inkling that he was low," which has made it more difficult to come to terms with his death.
"It's been really hard because I can't understand what was happening in that moment [he died]," she added about Stephen.
Despite still being immersed in a myriad of emotions since his death, Allison said she is determined to ensure his legacy lives on.
"Stephen brought so much joy to this world, and he deserves to be remembered as the beautiful man he was," she continued.
Allison Holker Recently Launched A Mental Health Foundation
Part of the steps she has taken to ensure Stephen is remembered includes launching the Move With Kindness Foundation.
The non-governmental organization is focused on helping people with mental health struggles overcome their challenges.
"We always hear, 'Reach out to the strongest people,' and I believe in that. But I also want the messaging to be that if you're feeling low or depressed, it's okay to lean on someone else," Allison said about the work the foundation is doing.
She added, "Trust that people are still going to see you as that light even in your darkest moments."
Allison also acknowledged that so much has changed in her life since Stephen's death. For one, she has adopted the practice of "cold plunging" at night to help her deal with tension. She also shares a new connection with her kids "that requires trust and being really vulnerable."
Allison Holker Says She Is Not Ready To Return To Dancing
Allison and Stephen first met in 2010 when they participated as All-Stars on Fox's competition series, "So You Think You Can Dance." Three years later, they got married, and Stephen also adopted Weslie, Allison's daughter from a prior relationship.
While Allison is in a much better place since she lost her husband, the mother of three is yet to return to dancing, a passion she shared with her husband.
"Dancing with him was so special," she said, "I haven't danced yet. That's gonna be a big step for me, but I know that I'll get there. He's guiding me on this path."
Late last month, an autopsy report confirmed that Stephen's death involved no foul play and was indeed a suicide case, per The Blast. He was laid to rest on Jan. 4, 2023, during a private service at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Los Angeles.
