Cheryl Burke Composes Sweet Father's Day Letter In Honor Of Late Dad

Cheryl Burke gets emotional as she remembers her late father on Father's Day.

The renowned professional dancer took a heartfelt step to commemorate the special day by penning a touching letter to her late dad. Her touching message is filled with genuine feelings and pays tribute to the special bond she shared with her father. 

Taking to her Instagram story, the television personality reflected on the precious memories they shared via slides filled with messages addressed to him. The first one, captioned "Dear Dad…." saw the father-daughter duo posing with presumably a birthday cake on a table as they smiled happily.

In the second, the older man, looking casual in a sweater, pair of shorts, and sneakers, held on to her pet dog, Ysabella, with a leash. Across the snap, the actress wrote, "Thank you for being the best grand-dogger anyone could ever ask for…."

The third image tugged on heartstrings, as the pair could be seen focusing intensely on a game of puzzles. In the caption, she thanked him for being her "puzzle buddy…." The professional dancer hugged her father from behind in another cute image, continuing her expression of gratitude, writing, "And for being the best dad a daughter could ask for!" 

The "DWTS" alum showed off her beloved dad's humorous side in the final slide by sharing a throwback picture of him sporting a massive Mexican mariachi hat. She wrote across the fun snap, "Happy Father's Day ?." 

Despite the sorrow of losing her father, Cheryl's love for him has continued to shine through in all her tributes to him. In April, her sense of gratitude and affection for the late Patriarch was evident as she celebrated his 73rd posthumous birthday.

In memory of him, the 39-year-old posted an old photo on Instagram, expressing her deep longing for him. The heartfelt tribute featured a charming snapshot of her as a baby alongside her handsome father, who passed away just before turning 68. 

In the nostalgic photograph, a young Cheryl sat happily on her father's lap, adorned in a white ballerina-inspired ensemble and matching shoes, her hair styled with a fringe cut. The celebrant, dressed in all black with a mini afro hairstyle, embraced her lovingly, their smiles radiating warmth. 

Accompanying the image was a heartfelt note expressing her unwavering commitment to honoring Stephan's memory. She affirmed, "Whether or not they celebrate birthdays in heaven, I am celebrating you today on your special day. Most you, Dad ?." 

At the Race To Erase MS 30th Anniversary Gala in Los Angeles on June 2, the Filipino-American dancer candidly shared insights into her dating life following her divorce from actor Matthew Lawrence. 

Despite expressing her readiness to reenter the dating scene in December, The Blast reported that she appears to have second thoughts, revealing her shifting perspective on the matter during the event.

During an exclusive interview at the event, the two-time Mirrorball champion revealed, "I'm literally dating myself. I know that sounds so, like, cliché, 'OK whatever.' No, but really, I'm not looking, I'm not interested at the moment."

Her past experiences with men have also contributed to her reservations, and she elaborated on that matter, stating: "I haven't been a great picker. But until I change that pattern—I have to really authentically change the pattern, or else I'll continue to pick maybe not the good ones for me."

Undeterred by her reservations, the television host found solace and affection in her dog, Ysabella. Light-heartedly, she joked, "I'm dating my dog, for god's sake. They have no opinion; they're great, they're cute, and they smell maybe a little bit, but that's fine."

While it is a relief to see that Cheryl's adorable pup brings joy to her life, it is worth remembering how Ysabella caused complications during the estranged couple's divorce settlement. 

Even the court wanted to avoid being involved in settling ownership of the pet canine, judging by legal documents obtained by the publication. The documents stated, "The court expressly reserves jurisdiction for later determination of the issue of the ownership of the dog "Ysabella."

Apart from that, the ex-partners also managed to avoid disputes over their finances as they both waived their rights to spousal support, and a mutual agreement was reached.
