Shanna Moakler celebrated Father's Day with a post dedicated to her dad John Moakler.

The reality television star created a nostalgic moment when she reminded her nearly 400k followers that she was not by her father's side over the weekend. She rarely shares updates like this with her fans, so they have learned to hold her hand when necessary, even though it's virtual, through the likes and comments they make.

Shanna Moakler Cannot Wait To Reunite With Her Dad Amid Father's Day 2023 Celebrations

Many dads were saluted on Father's Day as entertainment stars took to their social media accounts to celebrate their dads on Sunday, June 18. For Shanna, she observed the special day with a throwback snap featuring her and John in the middle of what appeared to be a father-daughter dance.

The patriarch, who looked lost in the moment, donned a white button-down undershirt, a black tuxedo, and a matching bow tie. He placed one hand around his daughter's upper back and intertwined his other fingers with hers for the moment.

Meanwhile, Shanna backed the camera, wearing what looked like a lace wedding dress with black leather adorning her midriff. Her hair was styled into the classic bun befitting of a bride, so we can assume the image was captured during her wedding to her now ex-husband and musician, Travis Barker. Beneath the vintage photo, the 1995 Miss New York USA wrote:

"I love you @drjohnmoakler you are the most amazing man and father, I wish so badly I could be by your side. Couple more weeks... how lucky I am to have you as a dad… 🦷⚓️❤️."

Almost immediately, the post received thousands of likes and hundreds of comments, including one from a fan that read, "Beautiful picture! Happy Father's Day to your dad."

A second fan commented, "Awww. God bless you babygirl and your family 🙏🏼💞 Happy father day to you as well sexy Mamisita Chula…" and a third advised, "Have an amazing time with your dad when you have him in your presence."

"Happy Father's Day to your dad! What a gift and blessing he is! Prayers and love for him," a fourth netizen typed. A fifth fan, who thought Shanna was being shady, queried, "The only pic you could find was in your wedding dress to Travis a day after Kourtney announced she was preggers to the world? Lol…"

Regardless of the pageant queen's intention in using that picture, it does not negate her position in her father's life. According to Dove Clove, she is the last of four children born to her dentist dad and late mom, Gail Moakler.

Her older siblings include two brothers — Kirk and John IV — and a sister Michelle, who died on November 9, 2012. Michelle's death is not the only tragedy the Moaklers have suffered, as their matriarch passed away earlier this year.

Before that, her husband had suffered a stroke that required him to spend some time in intensive care. At the time, a source shared that he had contracted "COVID on top of that, and doctors have told them he will never walk again."

The Miss USA Nevada Executive Producer Marked Two Milestones Without Her Mother

Last month, The Blast reported that Shanna marked her late mother's 78th birthday with a witty Instagram Story. Per the article, the model uploaded a throwback picture of John and Gail in an intimate embrace while smiling at viewers and interlocking their fingers across their chests.

"Happy heavenly bday, Mom. I wish so badly we could go to Ricotti's, sit on the deck, have a screwdriver[.] look at birds, and listen to The Bee Gees," the December 2001 Playmate of the Month wrote in white letters against a black box.

The update came after Shanna commemorated her first Mother's Day without her doting mom beside her. She kicked off the bittersweet journey with a pic that featured younger versions of her and Gail holding each other around the shoulders, along with a "Happy Mother's Day" write-up at the top of the Story.

The Miss Utah USA franchise owner then posted a snapshot of Gail throwing her up in the air next to a bridge over a body of water. The comments began pouring in without extra prompting, with one fan expressing, "Beautiful memories for two gorgeous women! She is now your personal "angel" 🕊️," and another pointing out that the memory was "so precious."
