The former beauty queen is at the center of an unsettling online controversy. In an era where misinformation can spread like wildfire, the star who lost her beloved mother recently has to dispel rumors of her death.

The model posted a picture of a fake obituary on her Instagram story from an online wiki page. The false report claimed the vibrant celebrity had passed away, shocking her. 

The page noted that the mother-of-three passed away on May 25 and that her death might have resulted from a boat accident. However, Moakler wasted no time vehemently refuting the rumors by asserting her continued existence and well-being.

Across the image, she wrote, "Well, this is scary. I'm very much alive, Ty. I won't be going near boats today." She was shocked, asking, "Who writes terrible things like this?"

Fans will recall that the reality TV star faced a heartbreaking start to the new year when her beloved mother unexpectedly passed away on January 3. The actress expressed her sorrow and described her mother as a remarkable woman filled with beauty, kindness, and love. 

Grateful for outpouring of support from loved ones and fans during the difficult time, she acknowledged the condolences that flooded in shortly after her mother's untimely departure.

The TV personality had always openly expressed her love for her mother on social media, frequently sharing pictures and praising her for her remarkable qualities. Despite the heart-wrenching loss, she seemed determined to continue honoring her mother's memory by carrying on the tradition of showcasing their special bond through heartfelt posts.

Moakler shared a touching glimpse into her relationship with her late mother on her Instagram Story. She posted a screenshot of a heartwarming text conversation between her and Gail, where her mother sent a video of a road covered in a snowy blanket. 

Accompanying the video, Gail wrote: "We are supposed to get snow flurries today or tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it [.] I love snow." Responding to the "Joey" actress's response, "Lucky," the older woman revealed that she was currently in an excellent place emotionally and physically. 

She expressed deep affection for her family and concluded her message with a tender "I love you, honey." The 48-year-old reciprocated by assuring her with the words, "Good mom, love you too," prompting the late matriarch to add a final message:

"I need my girl [.] you mean so much to me you have no idea. I am so proud of you. I am so proud to be your mama."

On her late mother's birthday, the social media influencer commemorated the beloved matriarch with a touching tribute on social media. The Blast reported that the "Bridalplasty" host honored her mother's memory and celebrated her life by sharing a heartfelt throwback photo of Gail and her husband, John W. Moakler III, radiantly smiling at the camera. 

On her Instagram Story, the vintage photograph captured her parents intimately holding each other while beaming at the camera. In white letters against a black text box, the former Miss New York USA began by expressing her heartfelt wishes, "Happy heavenly bday, Mom." 

Her longing was evident as she continued, "I wish so badly we could go to Ricotti's, sit on the deck, have a screwdriver[.] look at birds and listen to The Bee Gees."

The recent commemoration of Gail's first posthumous birthday added to the significant moments that followed her passing. One was after Moakler observed her first Mother's Day without the beloved 78-year-old.

She shared a throwback photo of her and her mother embracing each other with the colorful words "Happy Mother's Day" at the top. Continuing the celebration, the "Due South" actress posted an Instagram picture featuring a nostalgic moment captured in a throwback photo. It showcased Gail playfully throwing her up in the air near a bridge overlooking a serene body of water.

Fans showered the two stunning women with heartfelt compliments, calling their shared memories beautiful and referring to the star's mother as her personal "angel." The picture was described as precious, and love and hugs were sent to the "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" actress and her mother, with admiration for their beauty.
