Flavor Flav has updated his fans on his sobriety journey.

The Grammy lifetime achievement award winner shared on his platform that he is now three years free of cigarettes alongside his certificate of excellence.

He also revealed that he is several years free of alcohol and drugs and thanked his fans and family for their endless support all through.

Flav took to Instagram to share an update about his "sobriety journey" and thank those who had supported him all the way,

The hype man and rap singer, who started smoking at age 6, revealed that he is now "3 years clean from cigarettes."

He also noted that he had left behind his other vices, like alcohol and drugs, and advised those still struggling with addictions not to give up.

He wrote, "Soon I'll be 3 years sober from alcohol. And I've been 15+ years sober from drugs. I'm proud to share my sobriety journey and Thankx to my friends and family and those who support me."

The singer added, "To everyone out there struggling with addiction, it is a real battle you fight every day. But I'm still here and you know what, I DID IT, and if I can do it, anyone can do it!!!"

Flavor Flav Asks Media Not To Use His Past For Clickbait

In his update, Flav also admonished media outlets not to use his past story for "clickbait headlines."

He said, "To every media outlet that tries to capitalize on my goodwill trending topics and bring up my past or old interviews for sensational click bait headlines, do better and bring up my future."

While doubling down on his remark, the 64-year-old rapper asked that the outlets should "allow for people to grow and change in a supportive manner."

He continued, "Don't let anyone hold you to your past, I wear the clock, my clock goes clockwise, not counter clockwise, Look forward not backwards."

Alongside his post, Flav also shared a certificate of excellence for being three years smoke-free, which was awarded by the Smoke-Free organization. His post has since garnered thousands of likes from his 317k followers.

He Used To Spend Nearly $3000 On Rock Cocaine Each Day

Earlier in the year, the legendary Flavor Flav revealed that, while he was still an addict, he doled out nearly $3,000 on rock cocaine daily.

"There was a time that I was spending $2,400 to $2,600 a day, for six years straight … you do the math," Flav said while appearing on the "Off the Record" podcast with DJ Akademiks, per New York Post. "That's how much I spent on drugs."

"I ain't gonna lie, I sold a lot — but I was my best customer," the 63-year-old Public Enemy rapper added. "I had a lot of money at the time, I was just doing the wrong things with my money."

The hip-hop legend also expressed his belief that his survival from drug addiction was a divine intervention, allowing him to caution others about his errors and assist them in finding a better path.
