Britney Spears Calls 'Doing Instagram' Her 'Part Time Job'

Singer Britney Spears is clarifying some comments she made about quitting the business.

Although it's been reported that the 41-year-old pop star has no plans to tour anymore, fans are still hoping for some new music.

Instead, fans might be getting some new videos of Britney dancing in her living room, as she called "doing Instagram" her "part time job" on Friday afternoon.

On Friday afternoon, the "Hold Me Closer" singer took to Instagram to share a quote with her millions of followers.

She credited @yourtango for the quote, which read, "I walk around like everything is fine, but deep down, inside my shoe, my sock is sliding off."

In the caption, Britney wrote, "I know I said I quit the business but doing Instagram is almost like a part time job !!! I'm always busy !!! So I'm still here with my sock sliding deep inside my shoe !!!"

Although Britney usually leaves comments off on her Instagram posts, she has started to allow them more and more frequently. Although there were a few comments that said that Britney was “not as free” as she seemed, some of the comments tried to offer her advice on how to continue her music career.

“Have you ever thought of being in the music industry without actually being in the music industry? Go independent, do things on your own terms, tour if you want to, fund your own music and videos! Work at your own pace. It's a lot of hard work but who knows, maybe it would be very fulfilling,” one fan commented.

Unfortunately, as other fans pointed out, it wasn’t that simple. “I’d say you don’t realize what you are actually saying,” another follower replied. “It’s a business and with Britney, it’s BIG business. Really big. So no matter who manages it, it is still something that takes a big team. Actually, doing it herself would be a LOT more stressful.”

“She did remaster a song with Elton John that turned out so good! Just saying!!” another fan chimed in. “Welcome to the future where Youtubers have millions of fans and do all the work themselves lol.” That prompted another follower to reply, “and no YouTuber has ever reached the fame of Britney Spears so they aren’t comparable.”

After several back-and-forth comments, the fan who originally posted the idea said that they simply felt that Britney “has the right to reclaim her joy and her passion for music. She doesn't owe it to anyone but herself. I think it would be beautiful to witness.”

Another follower wrote, “Do whatever makes you happy, B. But.. if you want to do a new album, I’m all for it. I mean what the h--- is the music business without the QUEEN of pop?” Another fan chimed in, “I wish she knew how loved she is. I don’t think she knows. Not really. Not 100%. She is so loved. Not only by her fans but go to any nightclub in any country in the world, put on Britney, and everyone goes crazy. She is so, so, so loved!!!”

“She can't not know how many fans she has, but since her voice has changed, she might not be as comfortable doing an album of her own. She could perform, if she wants, singing with someone and dancing her ass off, but, has anyone see her in the past as an actress. She's really really really good,” another fan shared.

That being said, it looks like Britney is still thinking about her career. Only two days ago, she took to Instagram to share a video from her Dream Within a Dream tour. The fourth concert tour was launched right after she released her third studio album, Britney.

In the caption of her Instagram post, she wrote, “The music is identical to the little girl by the ocean 🌊 !!! Like identical twins very very creepy 🤔🤔🤔🙄🙄🙄 !!!” That being said, fans still love the song!
