Amy Duggar is sharing her unfiltered opinions about her family! The niece of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar called out the reality TV stars for reacting poorly to the new docuseries about the clan's dark secrets.

The Duggars rose to fame as the focus of the canceled TLC series "19 Kids and Counting." The program followed the large family's ultra-conservative beliefs, which promoted modesty and a firm adherence to their IBLP teachings.

An Amazon Prime Video documentary recently uncovered the inner workings of the TV clan's past, including the sexual abuse scandal of the oldest son Josh Duggar. However, the disgraced male's parents were not pleased with the public airing of their dirty laundry.

In a recent discussion, the 36-year-old addressed her relatives' response to the four-episode documentary "Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets." The program explored the lives of the former TLC stars as members of the controversial Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP).

Following the show's debut, the heads of the Duggar clan opened up about the Prime Video content on their website. The couple expressed their displeasure over the docuseries, noting that their problems should be resolved privately.

"The recent 'documentary' about our family is sad because we see the media and those with ill intentions hurting people we love," the spouses' joint statement began. "Like other families, ours too has experienced the joys and heartbreaks of life, just in a very public format."

According to the Lovebirds, the "Shiny Happy People" program painted various people and situations in a "derogatory and sensationalized way" for entertainment. Despite their distaste for the show, the Duggar patriarch and matriarch noted they loved their family.

"We have always believed that the best chance to repair damaged relationships, or to reconcile differences, is through love in a private setting," their statement continued. "We love every family member and will continue to do all we can to have a good relationship with each one."

Concluding their post with a strong show of faith, the couple wrote: "Through both the triumphs and the trials, we have clung to our faith all the more and discovered that through the love and grace of Jesus, we find strength, comfort, and purpose."

Following their impassioned remarks about the tell-all documentary, Amy slammed the dynamic duo for failing to admit their guilt. "I feel like this is the moment where they could have said, like, we made mistakes, right? I mean, it's for the whole world to see," the 36-year-old said to ET Canada.

The mother-of-one believed the spouses could have used the opportunity to be "humble" instead of not showing remorse and refusing to acknowledge the survivors. The Arkansas native accused the pair of living with "their head in the clouds."

Amy said the couple was "not thinking of the people that are hurting that went through hell, including their daughters." The media personality lamented: "It's just unfortunate. And for me, it is gaslighting. It's just completely being selfish about it."

Jill Duggar Revealed It Was Difficult Participating In The Documentary About Her Family

Weeks before Jim Bob and Michelle responded to the "Shiny Happy People" docuseries, Jill Duggar confessed that she hesitated before sharing her story in the Prime Video docu. In a snippet for the tell-all show, the blonde beauty sat down with her husband, Derick Dillard, to discuss her family's "cult-like" religion.

The Arkansas native stated that opening up about her experience with the disgraced pastor Bill Gothard's IBLP foundation was difficult. "Yeah, I mean, interviewing this isn't easy, and I didn't want to do it," the entertainer said nervously.

"There's a lot there. Do I want to open that can of worms?" the mother of three continued. Despite contemplating her participation in the show, the "Counting on" star shared her story, including her brother's sexual abuse scandal.
