Single and still mingling! Jason Oppenheim reveals he and his ex-girlfriend Marie-Lou Nurk are still in contact despite their separation.
The real estate broker and the German model have made headlines since debuting their unexpected romance in 2022. Despite the over a decade age gap between them, the pair achieved a ten-month milestone before breaking up.
Unlike most celebrity splits, the duo did not follow the trend of irreconcilable differences as their communication system continues to thrive. The president of the Oppenheim Group recently opened up about his close relationship with the media personality.
Jason Oppenheim Expresses Disinterest In Dating While Embracing A Life Without Marie-Lou Nurk
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the businessman got candid about navigating his new life as a single man. Although he is no longer romantically linked to his ex-girlfriend, the 46-year-old noted that the former couple remained on good terms.
According to the TV personality, the end of the duo's relationship was sad. However, the pair accepted their fates without malice. Nonetheless, moving on from a 10-month affair was challenging for the California native.
"This has been a transition, you know, obviously difficult," the University of California alum confessed before revealing the former lovers stayed in touch. "But Lou and I remain close, and we talk almost every day — we at least either text or talk," Oppenheim added.
While his amicable stance with the blonde beauty continues, the Netflix star insisted he would not be falling in love anytime soon. "I'm certainly not rushing into anything. I'm just going to take it slow," the 46-year-old declared, noting that he had other priorities than finding a rebound lady.
The former O'Melveny & Myers law firm staffer stated he would focus on spending quality time with his loved ones while keeping his eye on the money bag. The "Selling the OC" star had his hands full with the opening of the Oppenheim Group's fourth real estate office in San Diego.
Additionally, the California native was busy filming episodes for his reality TV series and planned on joining some of his co-stars for some off-the-camera fun. Oppenheim revealed he would travel to Vancouver later during the week before moving to Las Vegas.
The attorney stated he would be celebrating his pal Romain Bonnet's 30th birthday in the nicknamed city that never sleeps. The 46-year-old, his twin brother Brett Oppenheim, and Bonnet's wife, Mary Fitzgerald, were planning a grand bash for the fellow "Selling Sunset" cast member.
Following his June travels, the real estate broker scheduled more trips to Europe for July and August. The entertainer said about his vacation plans: "I'm just going to enjoy traveling and kind of just taking things slow and jI am just focusing on myself right now and te on work and the offices and staying pretty busy. I'm happy.
Additionally, his journey might lead him back to a specific German model. The businessman revealed he might see Nurk when he stopped by Paris for a few days.
The Former Lovebirds Announced Their Separation With A Joint Message
Weeks earlier, Oppenheim and Nurk shocked their followers with a joint message about their breakup on social media. The shocking news came shortly after the blonde beauty debuted on the sixth season of the "Selling Sunset" series.
The real estate mogul broke the news on his Instagram Story, sharing an adorable picture of the former couple on a boat. The duo warmly embraced, pulling each other closer as they watched the sunset over the horizon.
In the overlay text, the pair's joint message explained that the lovebirds had decided to separate due to issues with their long-distance relationship. The exes could not be in the same area as Nurk's Paris-based model. The German beauty spent her days between the French capital and Los Angeles.
"While we still love and care about each other very much, the distance between us has proven to be too great a challenge to overcome," the breakup announcement read. "We remain close friends and continue to talk often and support each other, and we want the very best for one another."
Oppenheim's post concluded with a red heart emoji and a note of gratitude: "We thank everyone for their support throughout our relationship." The entertainer's ex-girlfriend shared the same post on her Instagram Story but added a different emoji in her breakup message.
