Basketball Wives is moving to a new city and focusing on a new cast. It’s about time the series had another shakeup.
More ‘Basketball Wives,’ Please
The popular VH1 reality show has officially begun filming in Orlando! According to a report from The Jasmine Brand, the shift in series has kicked off, and Basketball Wives Orlando will be the new favorite drama.
The series started in Miami, Florida, in 2010 and had five seasons until it ended in 2013. Then the show moved to Los Angeles with Basketball Wives LA in 2011. It lasted ten seasons and is still going strong.
Some old cast members from L. A is allegedly going to make a comeback for the 11th season like Evelyn Lozada, who has been known to be a bit of a troublemaker and has been in her fair share of physical fights with cast members.
She didn’t leave on the best of terms, and now, she is making a comeback… who will she align with is the question everyone online has been asking since the announcement.
‘Basketball Wives Orlando’
The cast for Orlando hasn’t been confirmed, but one of the people allegedly attached to the spinoff is Mehgan James. From her time on Bad Girls Club, fans know James and plenty of other Zeus productions like “Baddies ATL” and “Notorious Queens.”
Plus, she appeared on one disastrous season of Basketball Wives L.A. Fights broke out, frenemies yelled at one another, and James was in the middle of it standing her ground. One thing she has going for her is she has a kid by a ball play, thus qualifying her for the show.
Fans of Basketball Wives are pretty clear that being married to a ball player is far from one of the requirements to be on the show.
Mehgan James Isn’t Married
While James isn’t married, she does have past relationships with basketball players that qualify her for the reality show. One important one is with Kedrick Brown, the former Boston Celtics player. It lasted for a significant and became public knowledge.
As for who else is joining the new cast, it’s pretty hush-hush. Some have speculated that Basketball Wives fan favorite Draya Michele could return to the show. The actress has indicated that a return to reality T.V. is doubtful.
The franchise has been struggling lately. Fans would regularly take to social media after an episode would air weekly and blast the cast for not acting their age and fighting over nonsensical things.
The latest season ended on a low, but maybe reviving it in a new city with what looks to be a younger cast will grab the attention of the fans who gave up on the series long ago.
