Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is one of Disney World’s Resort properties. Consisting of over 750 acres of pine and cypress forest, Guests can rent an RV spot and bring their camper to sleep in!

A Walt Disney World Guest, Miriam, and her husband, Andy, decided to book a last-minute trip to Disney World. They owned an RV, so they packed up and drove to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

Two days after the couple parked their RV at a campsite at Ford Wilderness, Miriam said she gave birth to a baby boy in the RV. “Of all births I have attended as a birth worker, without biases, I can say this one was the coolest," she told news outlet Disney Food Blog.

After Miriam had her baby, she was craving one iconic Disney World food item and one only -- the corn dog nuggets from Casey's Corner, a quick-service restaurant located at Magic Kingdom. Luckily, Magic Kingdom is only a short boat ride away from Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, so her husband hopped on a boat and grabbed some corn dog nuggets and brought them back to the Resort for his wife. Congratulations to the happy couple.

Trail’s End, was a restaurant located at Disney's Fort Wilderness where Guests could “feast on a down-home breakfast or dinner—served family-style—at this tasty Frontier mainstay.” Unfortunately, the restaurant is now permanently closed as Disney prepares to make way for a new quick-service restaurant, which will open sometime this summer.

Disney plans to open a new quick-service restaurant this summer. In the meantime, Guests staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness can utilize P&J’s Southern Takeout mobile ordering and The Chuck Wagon food truck for food options. Or, if available, Guests can secure a reservation for the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, a dinner show located at the Resort.
