Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, are all about upholding religious traditions, as their first daughter marks her Bat Mitzvah.
The former first daughter of America’s 45th president and her investor husband are ardent Orthodox Jews. According to the practices in Judaism, Bat Mitzvah ceremonies mark the transition into adulthood for young children, and it’s sometimes held at the age of 13
While the famed couple’s first child, Arabella, approaches her thirteenth birthday, she has her Bat Mitzvah ceremony, and Ivanka is over the moon about it.
Ivanka Trump Happily Marks Her Daughter Arabella’s Bat Mitzvah With Adorable Family Photos
On Tuesday, June 13, the 41-year-old mom commemorated an essential milestone in her daughter’s life on Instagram. She uploaded many photos showing how her family celebrated the achievement.
The first photo showed the businesswoman and her family of five all dressed to the nines while beaming. Ivanka channeled royal vibes by wearing a glittery turquoise dress. Arabella matched the royal vibes with her mom as she also donned a shining blue and gold dress. The men, on their part, rocked matching beige suits.
One photo on the post featured Arabella alone, feeling happy about the accomplishment. At the same time, another saw the former senior Adviser in the Trump administration having a swell time while being carried in a chair according to Jewish tradition.
Additional images on the slideshow featured Ivanka Jared's siblings sharing in their joy. From the shot, famous family members, including Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jnr, Vanessa Trump, Tiffany Trump, and Lara Trump, were seen. However, Melania Trump and the former president, Donald Trump, weren’t seen in the family moment.
In the post’s caption, the former official advisor to the President announced, "With an abundance of love and immense pride, Jared and I celebrated our daughter Arabella's Bat Mitzvah this past weekend… "She continued her message with details of her daughter’s incredible selflessness and growth.
Ivanka wrote, "From her commitment to feeding hungry families through the Jewish Community Service Kosher Food Bank to supporting children with special needs through her work volunteering with the Friendship Circle and Whispering Manes, Arabella's giving heart and commitment to making a positive impact embodies the spirit of this special milestone.”
The mom of three ended the caption by expressing how proud she was of her twelve-year-old. "We couldn't be prouder of the extraordinary young woman she has become. Her kindness, creativity, humor, empathy, and passion have filled our lives with joy and inspiration. May her Bat Mitzvah be the beginning of a beautiful and fulfilling chapter."
Arabella is the first child of Ivanka and Jared, born on July 17, 2011, two years after they tied the knot. In 2013, the couple welcomed a son Joseph and expanded their family again in 2016 with a son, Theodore.
'The Apprentice' Star Converted To Orthodox Judaism For Her Husband
While Arabella’s Bat Mitzvah may surprise some, unaware of Ivanka’s religious conversion, the avid businesswoman previously detailed her religious choice. According to reports, the 41-year-old entrepreneur converted to Judaism after tying the knot with her husband.
However, she likes to keep the discussion private, seeing the subject as "such a personal thing." The media personality spoke about her religious beliefs during a conversation with Vogue. "We’re pretty observant, more than some, less than others. I feel like it’s such an intimate thing for us," she said.
She added, "It’s been a great life decision for me. I am very modern, but I’m also a very traditional person, and I think that’s an interesting juxtaposition of how I was raised. I find that Judaism creates an amazing blueprint for family connectivity."
Detailing her religious practices, the fashion entrepreneur told the news outlet they keep Kosher and observe the Sabbath. Most significantly, they take out time for their family. "From Friday night until sundown on Saturday, they disconnect from the rest of the world and enjoy time with their family."
Trump explained how important and helpful the ritual of disconnecting from the world has been for her, saying, "It’s an amazing thing when you’re so connected to sign off. And for Arabella to know she has me, undivided, one day a week? We do nothing except play with each other, hang out with one another, and go on walks together. Pure family."
The investor, on his part, also accepted the ritual and even shared that his wife learned to cook due to it. "Ivanka’s such a type A,” he said. “She just gets it done. But she said, ‘If we’re going to do Shabbos, I’m going to cook.’ She never cooked before in her life and became a great cook. So for Friday, she’ll make dinner for just the two of us, and we turn our phones off for 25 hours."
