Although Wintour has chosen to embrace the spotlight, showcasing her unyielding passion for fashion, it did not stop actress Julia Fox from coming for her last month. The model boldly criticized the renowned Met Gala, describing the event as "stale" and privileged.

She expressed her discontent with the event's lack of inclusivity, suggesting that the guest list has neglected diversity for quite some time. The 33-year-old strongly disapproved of the gala's tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld. She expressed her disappointment highlighting her belief that he promoted ideals of "supremacy and imperialism."

Fox also revealed that despite growing popularity in the entertainment and fashion industry, she has never received an invitation to the Met Gala, seemingly implying criticism towards the event's host, Wintour.

The "Uncut Gems" star candidly expressed her indifference towards the Met Gala, stating, "To be honest, the Met Gala has never spoken to me. I mean, look at who is running it." Adding to her criticisms, she strongly denounced the media executive and called for her resignation so that "fresh" hands could elevate the event to new heights.

Accusing Wintour of using the soirée as a platform for excessive displays of "privilege and wealth," she inquired, "She [Anna Wintour] just won't quit – how long is she going to keep going?" The "PVT Chat" actress noted further that the fashion journalist had shifted the American Vogue towards commerce rather than art.

André Leon Talley's Explosive Memoir Takes Aim At Former Friend Anna Wintour

In his highly anticipated memoir, "The Chiffon Trenches," the late former editor-at-large of Vogue did not hold back as he delved into the details of his once-close friendship with the former fashion editor of New York.

As reported by The Blast, Talley candidly noted that he suffered "huge emotional and psychological scars" from their decades-long collaboration. In the book, he boldly claimed that Wintour lacks the capacity for basic "human kindness" and displays immunity to "anyone other than the powerful and famous people who populate the pages of Vogue."

As a revered fashion icon in his own right, Talley disclosed that the turning point in their relationship began in 2016 when he started hosting a popular Vogue podcast featuring celebrity guests.

Despite the podcast's success, he expressed discontent over being compensated a mere $500 per episode. To his surprise, the podcast was abruptly discontinued, with no explanation provided.

The same happened in early 2018 when the task of conducting red-carpet interviews at the Met Gala was suddenly "beneath" him. In his memoir, Talley reflected on the situation:

"This was clearly a stone-cold business decision. I had suddenly become too old, too overweight, too uncool, I imagined, for Anna Wintour. After decades of loyalty and friendships…Anna should have had the decency and kindness to call me or send me an email saying: 'Andre, I think we have had a wonderful run with your interviews, but we are going to try something new."

Although he wished she would "say something human and sincere" to him, Talley wondered if Wintour ever felt "miserable and alone."
