Kate Hudson Finds Unprecedented Freedom In Relationship With Danny Fujikawa

During a candid conversation on Chelsea Handler's podcast, "Dear Chelsea," the "Fool's Gold" star revealed the unique dynamics of her relationship with her fiancĂ©. The renowned actress shared insights into their deep connection, emphasizing the importance of trust and mutual support in their love story. The 44-year-old radiated joy as they said:

"It's the best. I mean, it's all about safety. At the end of the day, if you feel that, like, real yummy sense of safety, you feel so much more freedom."

Hudson then credited her beau for the freedom she enjoys in the relationship, in her words, "Danny is the first relationship that I've had that I feel free, adding, even though we're in a monogamous intimate relationship, I don't feel any part of me that feels I need to break out."

The mother-of-three emphasized how the guitarist's unwavering trust and the space he gives allow her to fully embrace life's adventures, from traveling the world to meeting fascinating individuals. 

For the "Bride Wars" actress, this relationship stands out as the first time she has experienced such profound security and the freedom it brings, solidifying the strength of their connection. She attributed the success of her relationship with the singer to his lack of "interest in being the center of attention of anything or to pursue fame in any form."

The "Le Divorce" actress noted that this dynamic allowed her to navigate her professional commitments without feeling pressured or concerned about causing friction or insecurity in their relationship. She recalled being on the red carpet and laughed:

"I'll look around for Danny, and he'll be off talking to anybody, and he's so happy." 

The pair have been together since 2016, although US Magazine reported that dating speculations began after they were caught 2017 engaging in public displays of affection outside Juice Crafters in Los Angeles.

They later made their red carpet debut that same year before welcoming their beautiful daughter Rani Rose, a year later. While celebrating their first anniversary, "The Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery" actress revealed an interesting tidbit about their relationship. 

They had met over a decade and a half before dating through his step-sisters and her best friends, Sara Foster and Erin Foster. After five years of dating, they took their relationship to the next level and engaged in September 2021.

Before her relationship with Fujikawa, she married musician Chris Robinson, with whom she has a 19-year-old son named Ryder. She also had a long-term relationship with Matt Bellamy, the frontman of Muse, and they have an 11-year-old son named Bingham.

During an interview on "The World's First Podcast" with hosts Erin Foster and Sara Foster, Hudson discussed her reasons for marrying her ex-husband in her early twenties. 

The 44-year-old passionately defended her decision, emphasizing that it was not "impulsive" as she was deeply in love then. She stated, "I went to New York, and I met Chris, and [when] I came home, I was like, 'Oh, I'm marrying this guy.' I was just like, 'You know what? I'm going to dive right into this.'" 

The "Deepwater Horizon" actress explained that she was too deeply in love to pretend and wait for a different time in their future before admitting, "I just jump in the deep end of everything I do. I didn't think twice."

During the podcast, she expressed her gratitude to Robinson, crediting him with her growth and teaching her "what it felt like to be unconditionally loved." The "Kung Fu Panda 3" voice actress noted, "Chris, like, completely opened that floodgate for me, forever, no matter how complicated the relationship got at one point." 

She further expressed that the most significant moment for her was meeting him and experiencing the profound emotions associated with it.
