Jana Kramer Follows Up Engagement Announcement With Pregnancy News

Jana Kramer is pregnant for the third time!

The actress and country singer, who is already a mother of two children —  Jolie and Jace —  is expecting her first baby with her fiancé Allan Russell. The exciting news comes after the "One Tree Hill" alum used her podcast to inform fans that Russell had popped the question during a scenic night at the new house they are building to live in together.

Kramer and Russell are expecting their first child together after six months of dating and less than one month after they got engaged. The 39-year-old mom-to-be exclusively shared the news with PEOPLE, using an image of the positive result of her home pregnancy test. During the "Soccer Mom Madam" star's conversation with the outlet, she happily gushed:

"I didn't think it would ever happen again if I'm being honest. I've been through a lot, so this has just been a really beautiful thing."

"I'm letting it all sink in. It's everything I've wanted and more. Allan was so sweet. He wrote me this little sticky note saying, 'You deserve the happy ending,'" the mom-of-two added.

Although this decision seems rushed, Kramer clarified that she and Russell — who is already a dad to a son — had started talking about growing their family earlier this year. In the words of the "I Got the Boy" singer:

"I've had miscarriages, so I didn't even know if it was possible. I'm like, yes, it'd be beautiful for us to create something because I love this man."

She further explained that even though becoming pregnant "would be the silver lining with everything that happened," not knowing if she could get pregnant again affected her mood. Ultimately Kramer and Russell decided to give themselves "one month to try" ahead of the singer's 40th, which seemed to be all the universe needed to give them what they wanted.

"I had this metallic taste in my mouth," Kramer recalled of the moment she suspected she was expecting during her and the former football player’s March trip to Los Angeles to attend the iHeartRadio Music Awards. She continued:

"That's what I felt with both my other kids' [pregnancies]. So I went to the store and got my Clearblue test. It said pregnant, and we just started crying."

Despite the sweet situation, the expectant mom waited until early May to break the news to her daughter, who had made her hopes for another sibling known. Seven-year-old Jolie's elation was then doubled when Russell went on one knee to ask her mother's hand in marriage some weeks later. Reporting the story, The Blast noted that Kramer told her "Whine Down with Jana Kramer" listeners:

"It was a wonderful night, and the kids and I were all sitting on the front porch of the steps and just looking out at the view. And he said my name, and I got up or whatever, and then he got down on one knee, and Jolie just started jumping up and down. It was the cutest thing ever; it's like she knew what was happening."

The Blast reported that the "Voices" vocalist opened up about her long-distance relationship with Russell and their plans for the future on another episode of her podcast. At the time, she disclosed that even though she would love nothing more than to relocate to Scotland to be with the 42-year-old, she could not because of her kids, stating:

"I can't move right now to England with my two kids. I don't think that would be fair, at the age they are, for my ex and all of that, so what can you do?"

She then detailed that living in the same place was a big part of her and the father-of-one's plans, divulging, "And with his work, too, it's one of those things where he's a soccer coach, so he works in England, could potentially work here in the States. So I think the goal would be to be in the same place."

However, Kramer expressed her disinterest in moving her children to the United Kingdom, claiming that she and Russell were considering other options, like the soon-to-be husband visiting Nashville during his months off work.
