The latest member of the British Royal Family has arrived as the second precious son of Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

The mother of two joined the succession line for the throne as the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. The 33-year-old serves as King Charles's niece and the granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The Children in Crisis ambassador recently blessed her social media followers with the first photos of her newborn son, including a sweet snap of how her oldest son August Philip Hawke is embracing his role as a big brother.

In her latest Instagram update, the Londoner shared two pictures introducing the newest member of her beautiful family. The first image captured the newborn sleeping comfortably; all snuggled up in a blue knitted hat with a white brim while his body was covered with a white shawl.

"Jack and I wanted to share the news that we had our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, on 30th May 2023 at 8.49 weighing 7.1lbs," the Princess revealed in the caption. "He is named after his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George, and my Grandpa Ronald."

"Augie is loving being a big brother already," the doting mother of two concluded with a string of heart emojis. As seen in the second picture, her oldest son appeared enamored with his little brother, stroking the baby's head as the boy enjoyed a nap in a giant crib.

The touching post received over 400,000 likes and numerous congratulatory comments. Several people celebrated the birth of the newest royal family member, while others noticed the facial similarities between August and his cousin, Prince Archie.

"Is it just me, or does Augie look just like Archie?" someone wondered. "I thought it was Archie, the older one, so similar," another chimed. Other commenters raved about the newborn's cuteness, with one writing: "Congratulations to the Brooksbank! Little Ernest is soo adorable."

"Wow, almost one week old already!! Congratulations to the family and welcome to the world, adorable baby Ernest," a fellow admirer penned. Before Princess Eugenie shared the first photos of her son, Buckingham Palace had announced Ernest's birth.

"Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their son, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank. Ernest was born on Tuesday, 30th May, and weighed 7lbs 1oz," the Palace's statement revealed on Monday, June 5.

Ernest's middle names, "George" and "Ronnie," paid homage to Queen Elizabeth's late grandfather King George V, Jack's father, George, and her mother's father, Ronald. The Londoner's second son placed him as 13th in the line of succession to the British throne, following his big brother August.

Additionally, the newborn was the first of Queen Elizabeth's great-grandchildren to arrive after the longest-ruling monarch's death in September 2022. The boy also served as the third grandchild of his grandparents.

The Duke and Duchess of York, who separated in 1996, welcomed their second grandchild, a granddaughter named Sienna Elizabeth, in 2021. The 1-year-old was born from the loving relationship between the former couple's oldest daughter Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Months before welcoming Ernest, Princess Eugenie got her mother emotional with her second pregnancy announcement. In January, the 33-year-old shared a cute outdoor picture of her oldest son pressing his face into her stomach, presumably to kiss his unborn baby brother.

While August buried his face in her baby bump, the proud mother was captured smiling brightly, full of love as she looked at her son. "We're so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer," the royal captioned the sweet post.

Naturally, fans positively received the news, with many sharing their congratulations and well-wishes for Eugenie's next baby. Among the commenters was Ferguson, who expressed her excitement with a red heart emoji and the words: "Granny heaven."
