Pete Davidson Apologetic After Profanity-Laced Voicemail To PETA

Pete Davidsonis apologetic after slamming PETA for judging him. That doesn’t mean he regrets his decision to shop not adopt.

By now you all may have seen that the Saturday Night Live alum was called out by the animal rights group for going to a pet store and buying a new puppy. They implored the actor to adopt, not shop, and went on to slam him for choosing to buy a new pup.

By no means does he regret the decision to buy the cockapoo, especially seeing as it was a gift for his mom and sister. Davidson is not happy with PETA having an opinion on what he is doing and decided to call up the organization and specifically called out Daphna.

He told her to do her own research before running to the media to slam him or anyone else. He also reiterated what his lawyer had shared shortly after puppy-gate took place that he is allergic to dogs and needs a hypoallergenic puppy.

The animal rights organization corrected Davidson and informed him that many hypoallergenic puppies are available to adopt if he had just done his research. They spoke to TMZ about his options.

“If Pete had done his research, he would know that there’s no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog, that at least a quarter of dogs in shelters are purebreds, and that Petfinder has listings for homeless dogs of every breed under the sun, including the one he purchased.”

The news organization contacted Davidson about the voicemail and presented him with the facts from PETA. The actor admitted he wasn’t aware he could “adopt a specific hypoallergenic dog.” He said he was told, “it wasn't an option, and if it was, it was rare.”

The actor’s voicemail kindly asked the PETA team to suck his man parts. When asked by TMZ why he went so hard on the team Davidson explained that the dog was a gift for his mom and sister who had recently and unexpectedly lost the other dog he got them in the middle of the pandemic.

“I haven't seen my mom and sister cry like that in over 20 years. I was trying to cheer up my family. I was already upset that the store had filmed me without my permission or acknowledgment,” explains Pete.

“Then this organization (PETA) made a public example of us, making our grieving situation worse. I am upset. It was a poor choice of words. I shouldn't have said what I said, but I am not sorry for standing up for myself and my family.”

After Davidson shared the sad reason why he bought a new dog, PETA offered up an apology but still blasted him for not making what they believe is the right decision.

“Our hearts go out to the Davidson family for the loss of their dog, but Pete must know in his heart that there's no excuse for buying a dog and propping up the puppy mill industry when millions of dogs await loving homes in shelters, and we hope he'll do the right thing and adopt next time.”
