During the "Rumor Report" on a recent episode of the radio show, "The Breakfast Club," alleged tea was spilled about the gun seen in Morant's infamous Instagram Live video in May.

"I got some inside source stuff here with Ja Morant, and the whole case with his gun and the car and all that. We all know he was already issued a warning; he had a history of this," Jordan said. "But my sources say that the relative in the car in the backseat had a toy gun in the car. The gun is not real. And was playing around with it, passed it over to Ja, and that got caught on the Live."

She continued to say that the video was allegedly sent to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, and "they said the gun looks extremely fake, like it's obviously a toy gun."

"According to my source, allegedly, Adam Silver is still gonna go through with the suspension," she continued. "Looking like it should be about 30 games, even though they know it is a toy gun."

Charlamagne then jumped in to give his take on this source's information and Morant's situation.

He explained that he's a fan of Morant and the Grizzlies, but wanted to know if "that's the best excuse y'all can come up with?"

"If that's a toy gun, why not say that from the start? Why issue an apology for a toy gun?" he said. "You issued an apology. If it was a toy gun, that's something you would have said immediately. If it was a toy gun, why did your man put the camera phone down when you started waving it? Why did he move the camera? Y'all gotta come up with a better excuse."

Jordan then said she asked her source why Morant wouldn't have been "screaming that from the rooftops."

"And they were like, well, you know, the NBA has a copy of the video and they have proof that it's fake," she said.

Charlamagne then explained why nothing about the Instagram Live says it was a toy gun. From the way the video appeared to the apology, he said nothing about it leads to that being a fake gun.

Last week, before Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Silver addressed Morant's investigation with the press.

"In assessing what discipline is appropriate, if that’s the case, we look at both the history of prior acts, but then we look at the individual player’s history as well. And the seriousness of course, of the conduct, so those are all the things that get factored," he said.

"It’s not an exact science. It comes down to judgment at the end of the day on the part of me and my colleagues in the league office."

Silver said while they have come to a conclusion about Morant's situation, the timing isn't right to announce it.

"In terms of the timing, we’ve uncovered a fair amount of additional information, since I was asked about the situation, I would say, we probably could’ve brought it to a head now, but we made the decision, and I believe the Players Association agrees with us that it would be unfair to these players and these teams in the middle of the series to announce the results of that investigation," he explained.

"And given that we’re of course in the off-season he’s now been suspended by the Memphis Grizzlies indefinitely, so nothing would have changed anyway for the next few weeks. It seemed better to park that at the moment, at least any public announcement and my sense now is that shortly after the conclusion of the finals we will announce the outcome of that investigation."
