Taylor Swift And Matty Healy Have Reportedly Ended Their Whirlwind Romance

Taylor Swift and the 1975's frontman Matty Healy have reportedly broken up.

The duo, who were romantically linked together early last month have called it quits on their very short relationship amid a string of controversies surrounding Healy making the news.

Prior to her romance with Healy, Swift was in a six-year relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn.

According to TMZ, Grammy award-winning songstress Taylor Swift and singer Matty Healy have broken up following a short-lived romantic relationship. 

A source for the news outlet revealed that Swift is "single" again but added that it's still unclear why the duo decided to call it quits.

Amid the whirlwind romance, Healy was spotted at several of Swift's concerts, cheering her on. At a particular show, the indie artist even sported a shirt with the singer's "1989" album cover on it.

Although the duo never officially confirmed their relationship, Healy and Swift were sported on several occasions kissing and holding hands in the company of friends.

News of Swift's split from Healy comes a day after he was seen kissing a security guard at one of his shows. The rockstar, who is infamously known for kissing fans at his shows, grabbed an unsuspecting security guard by the neck and pulled him for a passionate kiss on the lips.

His actions at the time raised eyebrows as many believed it was inappropriate for him to kiss the male security guard, considering his speculated relationship with Swift.

As seen in a TikTok video, Healy had sworn off kissing fans early in January, mainly because he was in the presence of "the queen," Swift. The singer announced to his audience that he would not be kissing any of them because Swift, who later took the stage for a brief performance, was in attendance.

Healy said at the time, "I'm not kissing anybody in front of Taylor Swift, have some respect. In front of the queen, it's not happening."

Swift became the subject of controversy in recent months due to her association and rumored relationship with Healy, who had been accused of being racist and sexist.

Healy's many controversial actions were brought to light due to the much talked about relationship with Swift, with some fans calling out the "Out of the Woods" singer for getting involved with him despite the several instances of Healy being insensitive and crude.

Among the many scathing revelations about Healy, he reportedly called American rapper Ice Spice "one of the Innuit Spice girls" and a "chubby Chinese lady," per Buzz Feed. 

Things took a turn for the worse when Swift announced a collaboration with Ice Spice amid her relationship with Healy. Many fans saw the move as calculating and an attempt to help absolve her boyfriend of his sins.

Besides his racist jabs at Ice Spice, Healy was also accused of being an anti-semite after a video clip of him throwing the Nazi salute at a performance surfaced amid his relationship with Swift. In the video, Healy sings, "Thank you, Kanye, very cool," as he marches and raises his hand up in a similar style as a Nazi salute. 

Speaking on his Nazi hand sign, Healy claimed at the time that it was satire and his way of calling out people for being Nazis.

The singer recently commented on the backlash he has received from fans, calling them "deluded" and "a bit mental" as his actions are all a joke meant to bait people.

Healy said of his critics to The New Yorker, "But it doesn't actually matter. Nobody is sitting there at night slumped at their computer, and their boyfriend comes over and goes, 'What's wrong, darling?' and they go, 'It's just this thing with Matty Healy.' That doesn't happen."

He continued, "If it does, you're either deluded or you are, sorry, a liar. You're either lying that you are hurt, or you're a bit mental for being hurt. It's just people going, 'Oh, there's a bad thing over there, let me get as close to it as possible so you can see how good I am.'" 

Healy added, "And I kind of want them to do that, because they're demonstrating something so base level."
