Tara Reid Thinks A Baby Would've Helped Her Career
The American Pie alum made a few honest statements about having a family to boost her career. The brave interview came from Mr. Warburton magazine. Reid reminded people of her status, "I'm not married, I don't have kids … and I think, in Hollywood, if you don't have kids or you're not married, you're judged."
She is still trying to shake that party girl image that plagued much of her younger years in Hollywood. "So they still think you're that party girl from 40 years ago." She believes that if she had followed the path of motherhood, her career would be in a much different place.
Tara Reid Can't Shake The Bad Girl Image
Reid admits that her career has hit a few bumps in the road, especially after the role in American Pie that seemed to define her in the industry, the fictional Victoria "Vicky" Lathum. One of the only ways to shake that image was growing up.
That means taking on traditional roles that weren't necessarily appealing to her. She tells the publication she had realized that if you have a kid and you get married, 'Oh, she grew up, she's great."
That was not the path Reid wanted to take or felt the need to pursue. "What if you can't have kids or don't want to get married?" she noted. "You can't judge people on that anymore. And it's the one thing I think is unfair about our society."
Tara Reid Has Back Up
The actress says she can't take credit for the decision she is choosing to make because women in the industry ahead of her have also made the impactful choice in their lives and seen a weird turn in their careers. Jennifer Aniston and Chelsea Handler, she says to name a few.
"If it's meant to happen, it will happen, but you can't keep dragging people's faces in it. Like get over it; there are other things to talk about," she continued. "I think people need to leave privacy alone when it comes to that degree of personal stuff."
And not to brag, she tells the publication that she has "never been happier" and her career is on the up as she is set to star in the series "Walking In L.A."
Tara Reid Was Labelled Unfairly
The actress wanted to enjoy her youth in Hollywood. She was one of the hot girls in the late 90s to the early 2000s and embraced that heavily. "I was the first one that kind of started this image, but the difference is that I never did sex tapes; I never did anything wrong."
Reid stands her ground about not being who everyone thought she was. "I never even got a speeding ticket," she explains. However, she remembers she "got punished" by the tabloids for "popping bottles and having a great time."
It may not have helped that she labeled herself the "godmother of partying." She admits after that, "I was just on an attack," paparazzi were constantly watching her. "It was pretty awful. And that's why I left," she says of her exit from Hollywood.
Now, back and armed with her comedy series, Reid isn't backing down from the pressures of Hollywood.
