Noah Galvin 'Proposed Back' To Ben Platt
On Monday, Platt took to his Instagram story to reveal that his beau, Galvin, proposed to him. It comes after the "Dear Evan Hansen" star first popped the question in November to get the two on the marriage path.
"He proposed back," Platt announced on his page, showing off the gorgeous sapphire sparkler on his left hand that was given to him by the "Good Doctor" actor.
Alongside the cute revelation, Platt also uploaded a photo of their pet canine, George, holding a single red rose in his mouth while surrounded by blue rose petals.
Written between the dog's paws was "I said yes," a sign that the pair's love for each other hasn't waned since the first proposal.
Later, the 29-year-old Galvin uploaded both Instagram Stories but emphasized the second one with their dog with a cute caption, "GEORGE DID THE ASKING."
The Pair Are Not In A Rush To Get Married
As for marriage plans, Platt revealed during an appearance on "The View" last month that he and his fiancee are taking things slow.
"We just got engaged a few months ago, so we're taking it slow and enjoying the fiancé stage. You only get to have that stage once," said Platt to the hosts, per People magazine.
He said of his fiancee, "He's charming. I've known him for a long time. We were friends for many years, and then I came to my senses halfway through."
Although the duo has kept aside any wedding plans for the near future, they have stated "initial conversations about where we want to do it and what the vibe is going to be."
They Confirmed Their Relationship In May 2020
Per People, Galvin first confirmed their relationship status in May 2020 during his appearance on the "Little Known Facts with Ilana Levine" podcast.
"Ben and I are dating," Galvin said at the time. "I asked him this morning; I was like, are we allowed to talk about this? And he's like, 'Don't go into our nitty gritty, but yeah, people can know.' It's still relatively new."
Over a year later, Platt opened up about the moment they finally decided to begin their relationship after being close friends for years.
"We were friends for five years, and right before the pandemic, we finally decided to give it a shot. We skated around it for a long time," Platt told Kelly Clarkson in an interview.
Both actors are known for playing the part of Evan Hansen in the award-winning musical "Dear Evan Hansen." Additionally, Platt received a Tony for the role before passing the baton to Galvin.
Ben Platt On His Relationship With Noah Galvin
Platt and Galvin have often flaunted their relationship on Instagram and occasionally discussed it in interviews. In 2021, the "Pitch Perfect" star opened up about his relationship with Galvin's impact on him in an interview with Out Magazine.
He shared at the time that, unlike his previous relationships, Galvin is "a partner" that he loves.
He also mentioned how the "Booksmart" actor helped him manage the "fear and apprehension" he felt about playing the role of Evan Hansen in the film years after starring as the character in the musical.
Platt remarked that his then-boyfriend "has a unique ability to help me to … be present where I am and to make the life that's happening day to day too wonderful not to want to be on the ground for it."
