While pretty much everyone on the planet is familiar with Grimm's Snow White, not everyone is aware of the dark history of the fairytale.

"There once was a queen, she was sewing when she pricked her finger, and three drops of blood fell in the snow," she began. "Saw the blood in the snow and was like, 'Oh, I wish I had a daughter who was red as blood, white as snow, and black as this frame that I'm embroidering.'"

She continued by explaining that not too long after that, she had a daughter whose skin was "as white as snow, whose lips were as red as blood and whose hair, black."

"And then she died. But don't worry; the king took another beautiful wife a year later," she said. "And she had a magic mirror."

"She would say, looking glass upon the wall, who is the fairest of us all," she continued with her dark, sad story. "The looking glass would answer you are the fairest of us all, but Snow White was only 7, and things changed when she started to grow."

Once Snow White began to age, she became the fairest of them all, to the queen's dismay. The queen wanted Snow White to die.

"So she found a huntsman and ordered him into the woods to kill Snow White and bring back her heart," she continued. "When he took Snow White into the woods and took out his knife, and she saw that, she said, 'Please no, please don't kill me. Just let me go.'"

The huntsman listened to Snow White's pleas for survival and listened to her and let her go. And then, a wild boar entered the scene, so the huntsman stabbed him and took his heart.

The story continued as Snow White was in the woods alone, trying to survive, when she came upon a little house where the seven dwarves lived. She made herself at home, and when the dwarves came home later that night, they saw her sleeping. Opening her eyes the following day, she saw them all staring her down.

The video ended, and Barmen had to film part two of the story. The story gets darker from that point. See part two HERE.

Barmen also has a dark story surrounding "The Little Mermaid."

"Once were a bunch of mermaid sisters varying in age, like six of them, and their daddy was the king," she began. "These sisters lived a pretty glamorous life beneath the surface, and when they each turned 15, they had to opportunity to rise above and gaze upon the shore."

She continued to explain that each of the older sisters got tired of going above the surface because they liked being under the sea. The little mermaid was the youngest, and the anticipation built for her to reach the shore. When she turned 15, she swam to the surface and saw a birthday party for a handsome 16-year-old prince.

If fairy tales and children's stories aren't quite your speed, what about some dark history about holidays and traditions? Barmen shares some of that on TikTok, too.

In one viral video, Barmen shares the dark history behind Christmas stockings.

"Oh yes, stockings, with their origins in illness and poverty," she began her story. "See, the tradition is tied to a 4th-century bishop. One day, he overheard an elderly man complaining that he could not afford to give his three daughters a dowry."

Because the older man couldn't afford a dowry, his daughters couldn't get married and would most likely get forced into working, a kind they wouldn't want to do.

"However, this saint, St. Nicholas, was so moved by this that he crept into their house in the middle of the night and filled their stockings, which had been hung to dry over the fireplace, with gold," she continued. "They lived happily ever after, and later, that bishop would be anointed Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of children and one of the inspirations of old Santa Claus."
