"Free Willy" star Jason James Richter was able to cut a deal after being arrested on allegations of domestic violence and avoid a lengthy jail sentence.

According to court records, Richter pled no contest to a vandalism charge on November 29. His charge for battery on a significant other was dropped.

Per the terms of the deal, Richter was sentenced to spend 4 days in jail and will be on probation for the next three years. The 4 days is a pretty big break because he was facing up to one year behind bars.

Richter had already spent two days in jail when he was initially arrested, and was given "good time/worktime" for the other two. He's also required to do one year domestic violence counseling, and a protective order was issued for the victim.
