Speaking about her collaboration with Versace, Dua Lipa expressed her excitement and creative involvement in the process.
“They allowed me to go into the archive and pull out Gianni’s early prints,” the “Break My Heart” singer shared. “We were able to bring [those] back a bit, modernize [them] and create a fun summer collection I feel very proud of.”
She continued, “It’s one of the infrequent occasions where I work with someone, and it is exactly how you envision it.” In her Dazed interview, Lipa also discussed the dynamics of her working relationship with Versace and how their relationship has grown.
“We text a lot, and she had such incredible input. I would put a metal buckle on some of the dresses, and she was like, ‘Maybe we should make that buckle pink to modernize it differently,'” she shared. “We had such a common language; we could just bounce ideas off each other.”
Lipa added, “She wants you to feel amazing – and she wants you to be heard.”
