Singer Britney Spears took her Instagram down very briefly on Tuesday night, but she claims that it was all a big "misunderstanding."

Britney Spears Says 'Oops!' After Taking Down Her Instagram Page... Again!

On Tuesday, the "Hold Me Closer" pop star made a return to Twitter, which she really only uses when her Instagram has been taken down. She shared a piece of artwork that she credited to another user before she explained that she deleted her account due to a "misunderstanding."

"Most light is always revealed in the darkness πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸ !!! Shall we go to sleep tonight ??? Psss … it was a misunderstanding on taking my Instagram down !!! OOPS !!!" she wrote on Tuesday night.

It seems that Britney really wanted to make it clear that the account deletion was just a big misunderstanding, as she also shared the same photo and caption on her Instagram account once it was back up and running.

It makes sense that the "Toxic" singer would be understandably nervous about shutting down her Instagram page, as the last time she did so in January 2023, fans actually called local law enforcement, who showed up at her door to perform a welfare check on the singer.

Britney Spears Speaks Out After Fans Ask Cops To Do A Welfare Check

On January 26, Britney took to Twitter to share a brief statement explaining that her β€œprivacy was invaded” after law enforcement officials were called to her home based on β€œprank phone calls.”

β€œAs everyone knows the police were called to my home based on some prank phone calls. I love and adore my fans but this time things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded,” Britney wrote. β€œThe police never entered my home and when they came to my gate they quickly realized there was no issue and left immediately.”

β€œThis felt like I was being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news and being portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media,” she continued. β€œDuring this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward.”

She signed the post, β€œAll the love, B.”

Britney Explains Why She Shut Down Her Instagram Page

In a since-deleted Twitter thread posted three days later, the "Slumber Party" singer assured her fans that she was "alive and well" and explained why she had shut down her Instagram page in a lengthy post that also featured her dancing around in the gym.

"Yep that's me … I'm alive and well. But not really convinced on these health juices, I mean there are SO MANY !!! Yoga and chest call me in. I do it inside, outside, wherever I fancy … this is me at a gym living my best life !!!" she wrote before explaining exactly why she decided to shut down her Instagram page.

"I shut down my Instagram because there were too many people saying I looked like an idiot dancing and that I looked crazy," Britney wrote. "Honestly I was doing my best but it disturbed me to see people freely talk about it on TV ... yep it hurt my feelings."

It seems now that Britney has decided that it's just easier to turn off comments on her Instagram posts, rather than delete her account altogether. Fans can see the three other posts that Britney shared on Tuesday night by clicking here.
