Anwar Hadid Claps Back At Misinterpretation Of Reaction To Ex Dua Lipa's New Relationship

Days after Anwar Hadid was reported to have responded oddly to his ex Dua Lipa's new romance, he is clearing the air about his reaction, claiming he was misunderstood.

On Friday, May 19, Lipa debuted her new lover, French director Romain Gavras, at the 76th Annual Cannes Film Festival, nearly two years after ending things with Anwar.

Many believed the 23-year-old model did not take the news so well, given his ensuing vague post. However, he is now slamming the internet for spreading false information about his affairs.

The younger brother of supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid went on his Instagram Story, bashing the media for publishing articles about his alleged reaction to his ex's new relationship.

"Crazy how the internet will just make whole articles about sh*t they don't know anything about!!," he ranted in a text overlay before adding, Y'all just bored as fuck!!!!"

As an afterthought, he penned "Sorry" without tagging anyone, leaving fans wondering to whom he was apologizing. Fans may recall that Lipa and her new man turned heads with their loved-up appearance at the film festival.

The newest couple in town was undoubtedly a sight to see in matching black attires for their red-carpet debut. The "Break My Heart" songstress turned heads with a lovely Celine gown designed by Hedi Slimane, featuring a one-hand strap and an open back.

Adding more flair to her physique was a thigh-high slit alongside a flattering criss-cross pattern from her bust to her midsection, teasing glimpses of her flawless skin. 

Lipa opted for simple accessories to go with her outfit, including a pair of dangling diamond earrings and a matching bracelet. Furthermore, her makeup was faultless, emphasizing her delicate features, while her dark curls were styled into a high bun with a few bangs.

Similar to her exquisite look, her companion was an eye-catcher in a classy black suit and naturally had eyes for only the "Physical" singer as they gave some slight PDA. Not only did the duo mark their red carpet debut on a momentous day, but they also went Instagram official as Lipa flaunted their affection to her 88.1 million Instagram followers.

One of the snaps showed the twosome in their hotel, and another was from their red carpet debut. As for the caption, Lipa went all French writing, "Hier soir à Cannes avec mon cœur," meaning, "Last night in Cannes with my sweetheart."

Although admirers could not help but swoon at the couple's pictures, the English vocalist's former boyfriend Anwar went on his Insta Story shortly after with a sad-looking picture of himself.

He was captured wearing a gray hoodie with a scarf over his head and attached to the image was an odd message alongside a smiley. The note read, "Trying not to find and Kill him."  He did not stop there but went ahead with a second shot – a mirror selfie of himself smirking and captioned, "I can't breath [sic]." 

Afterward, he dropped two more posts with cryptic captions that read, "Have fun" and "I hate the way you say my name."

As fans were aware, none of the updates included a name or a tagged handle, prompting them to speculate that he was hating on Lipa's lover given the timing.

Months after Anwar and Lipa called it quits on their over two years relationship, sources revealed what the Grammy winner was up to — and it was not a new love affair.

The Blast  reported that an informant disclosed that the superstar was "laser-focused on work" and had been prepping around the clock for her tour while "working on her next album."

At the time, the 27-year-old's "Future Nostalgia Tour" was set to begin on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the FTX Arena in Miami, Florida. 

The tour was also said to have kept Lipa busy until mid-November, as she had 80 concerts across North America, South America, Europe, and Australia. 

The same insider further shared that her shows were "very high-energy" and had revitalized her and given her a sense of stability after "all of her ups and downs with Anwar."
