6-Year-Old Boy's Morning Routine Goes Viral On TikTok

When Alissa Holder saw her son starting his day in an "old soul" way, she knew she had to document it and share it on TikTok.

A now-viral video shows how Ayaan, Holder's 6-year-old son, starts his day. With a a mug in hand and a chapter book open, Ayaan sits at a small table with a fish tank. After breakfast is finished and the bowl pushed aside, Ayaan appears intrigued by the book he's reading while sipping his tea before starting another busy day.

Holder explained the scene in the caption of the video. "I was packing lunches for Ayaan & Alaïa, and I looked over at Ayaan, casually drinking his lemon & honey tea and reading a new book. At first, I laughed. Because…who does he think he is????," she wrote.

"But then I realized that I'm glad he had this moment of calm and focus for himself before he started his day at school. I hope your day is off to a great start."

Words on the short but impactful video read, "If you ever wondered how our six year old @ayaandiop starts his day. It's with drinking tea and reading a chapter book after he finishes his cereal at 6:30 AM!!"

Viewers of the video loved seeing the calm morning Ayaan was having. Many shared a supportive message, and others shared some funny thoughts.

"It's the popped collar for me ???," one person wrote. "He def finishing the New York Times Crossword," wrote another.

"He's getting ready for his 9-5, lol," one person joked. Another added, "I feel he also reads the New York Times and has a Roth IRA account. ?"

Ayaan isn't new to the spotlight. In early 2021, a video was shared on Ayann's Instagram page of his time visiting "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

The caption reads, "@theellenshow I miss you! Thanks for including me as one of your favorite kids you've had on the show ???!!! I had so much fun with you."

In the clip, Ayaan shares some positive affirmations with DeGeneres.

"I'm smart. I'm blessed. I can do anything!" Ayaan exclaimed to DeGeneres, who replied, "I think you should add 'I'm adorable' in there, too."

Ayaan was also featured on "Today with Hoda & Jenna." He is the inspiration behind the children's book written by his mom called "I Am Smart, I Am Blessed, I Can Do Anything!"

A description of the book on Amazon reads, "It's a new day, and Ayaan has woken up on the wrong side of the bed, where nothing feels quite right. What if he doesn't know the answer at school? The book was released in December 2020, with a second book, "I Am Amazing!" released on July 26, 2022. A TikTok video on Holder's page shows the mother and son unboxing their newest book.
