Jennifer Lopez Talks Her Twins Being Treated 'Differently' Due To Famous Parents

Jennifer Lopez reveals one of the downsides of being famous, especially regarding her children.
While J.Lo, as she's fondly called, has been in the spotlight for over thirty years and has had to manage the public's scrutiny, she's more concerned about her kids' struggle with the spotlight. The "Selena" actress has twins– Emme and Maximilian from her third marriage to Marc Anthony, although she co-parents her 15-year-olds with her present husband, Ben Affleck.
Recently, the 53-year-old actress opened up about how hard it is for her kids growing up with their parent's fame.
Jennifer Lopez Opens Up About Her Kids Struggles With The Spotlight
During a conversation with" Audacy," the triple threat entertainer, while promoting her new movie, "The Mother," she spoke about her life as a mom. While conversing, one of the hosts asked the actress what she wanted to protect her kids from, prompting Lopez to spill out her fears.
Like her character in the Netflix movie who gave it her all to save her daughter, JLo shared that she isn't that different regarding her twin children.
She said, "Everything. There are so many things. I think being the child of famous parents is not something many people can understand, and I feel for [my kids] for that because they didn't choose that."
She continued, "They have just started telling me how people treat them—so when they walk into the room, that's what people think. They're not seeing them for who they are."
Getting emotional, the "Hustlers" star revealed that being under such pressure has been "a tough thing" for Emme and Max. Hence she "would love to be able to protect them from that."
The "Ain't Your Mama" singer added another thing she'd want to protect her kids from. She began by explaining that even though not everyone can escape being bullied, she would like to watch her kids from being judged by the public.
Lopez stated, "Everybody has to deal with being bullied like you said; it doesn't matter who you are, you can get bullied. But being judged by people that you don't even know in a way is, I think, difficult for them to grow up and be themselves. They know that there's a lens on them, and that's hard."
The "On the Floor" hitmaker claimed she brought that life upon her kids and felt somewhat guilty. Nonetheless, the actress noted that as much as she wants to protect her kids from "everything," pain is a part of life.
She says," You don't ever want them to feel a moment of pain in their lives, but that's not realistic. You realize as you get older, OK, the pain is necessary. The pain is good. The pain makes you feel a little like a warrior when you get through it."
While the "Maid in Manhattan" star would go all out for her kids, her partner Affleck would possibly do the same. A few weeks ago, the Golden Globes Award recipient gushed about how Affleck has been the perfect father figure to her children despite having kids of his own.
"He's a wonderful father and a father figure to them as well," she declared. "You know, he has three beautiful children, and then there's us." J.Lo further expressed, "He's fantastic, he really steps up to the challenge of what that is and what that means, and they love him, and they appreciate him, and so do I."

Meanwhile, the action thriller "The Mother," in which Lopez plays the lead role, came out ready to break records. Per reports, it has earned the title of Netflix's biggest opening for a film in 2023.
The thriller, which has a running time of 118 minutes, scored 83.71 million hours viewed during the May 8-14 viewing window and was No. 1 in 82 countries with nearly 43 million views. "Netflix calculates views by dividing the total hours viewed by the total runtime, which is 1.96 hours."
