Elliot Page Fights Back Tears While Holding The First Copies Of His Autobiography 'Pageboy'
In a recent Instagram update, the "Juno" star shared a video of his reaction to seeing the completed version of his memoir for the first time. For the emotional moment, the 36-year-old donned a casual ensemble featuring a baggy long-sleeved black top, dark-blue jeans, and a matching black cap.
Filmed inside his home, the Canadian Comedy Award recipient set the camera in front of his couch, where he was seated. Between his legs was a large brown cartoon with scribbled-out shipping details on its side. The words: "PAGEBOY," "ELLIOT PAGE," and "Sale Until 06/06/2023" could be partly seen on the box.
"Okay, I have the first box of 'Pageboy,' the physical book. Here we go," the TV personality announced with unshed tears as he began peeling back the box's four corners. "Woo," the Canadian added with a soft chuckle as he saw the first stack of his autobiography.
In awe of the stunning cover photo of himself in a sleeveless white top tucked into a pair of deep-blue jeans, the "X-Men: The Last Stand" actor picked up a book in silence, flipping it over before exclaiming: "Wow."
Overcome with emotions; the 36-year-old fought back the tears as he opened the book, feeling the pages with his hands as though trying to convince himself the moment was not a dream. "Wow, it's real," the trans icon acknowledged with a nervous chuckle, marveling at his work.
After gazing through the printed words with a bright smile, the "Hard Candy" actor snapped the memoir close and turned to the camera with his concluding statement: "Can't wait for you to read it."
The Hollywood sensation echoed similar enthusiasm in his caption: "Pageboy is real, and I can't wait for everyone to get their copy in a few weeks. If you haven't yet, preorder yours at ElliotPageBook.com!"
Ever the zealous supporters, Page's fan base rushed to the comment section to assure the Hollywood Film Award honoree they were just as delighted as he was for the book. "Now, this is an unboxing that makes my heart full! So excited for you! Can't wait to read it!" an individual exclaimed.
"Congratulations!!! That's one of the best feelings – to open a box of your book babies!! I can't wait to read it!" another person chimed. "Can't wait to get my copy!!! Preordered mine already," a third fan boasted before gushing about the actor's cute reaction.
"Your face was so full of pride when you opened the box!! Congratulations!! You are an amazing person and an inspiration to so many!!!" the social media user sweetly concluded.
All About The People's Choice Award Nominee's Memoir
Last February, it was announced that the "Pit Pony" star would release an autobiography using Flatiron Books as his publisher. The organization confirmed the news in a statement highlighting the memoir's plot as the Canadian sensation's transition journey.
"The memoir will delve into Page's relationship with his body, his experiences as one of the most famous trans people in the world, and will cover mental health, assault, love, relationships, sex, and the cesspool that Hollywood can be," the publication announced in their statement.
Fans of the Satellite Award winner might remember that the TV personality came out as transgender in 2020. The beloved entertainer made the revelation via an open letter on social media, where he confirmed his gender as male.
Days earlier, the 36-year-old proudly flaunted his top surgery scars in a shirtless Instagram post. According to the "Flatliners" actor, he struggled with dysphoria, especially during summer, until his transition saved him.
"It feels so f'ing good soaking in the sun now. I never thought I could experience this, the joy I feel in my body," Page raved in the caption. "I am so grateful for what gender-affirming care has allowed me, and I look forward to sharing more of my journey soon."
