Alec Baldwin Wishes A Happy Mother’s Day To The Women ‘Who Keep The World Going’

Actor Alec Baldwin is wishing a Happy Mother's Day to all the women out there, reminding his followers that "You don't have to have a baby to be a mother."
The father of 8 took to Instagram on Sunday morning to share a video praising the incredible women in the world, dedicating this year's annual celebration to all the women who "keep the world going."

In a minute-long video posted to Instagram on Sunday morning, Alec Baldwin began, “It’s Mother’s Day and I want to say Happy Mother’s Day to a few mothers. My mother passed away last May. Coming up on a year. I miss you, Mom. I hope you’re in a place that has really good cheesecake,” he joked.
He wished a Happy Mother’s Day to his sisters, Beth and Jane, before noting that the 27-year-old daughter that he shares with ex-wife Kim Basinger, Ireland Baldwin, is about to be a mother. “And of course, my wife, Hilaria, he added. “Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there.”
“Being a mom is something I’ve observed lately up close and it’s quite something, so Happy Mother’s Day to my mom and all the mothers out there,” he concluded.
"Happy Mother's Day to all of you great women out there!" the "Supercell" actor wrote in the caption. "You don’t have to have a baby to be a mother. You can be a mother to a dog, a garden, the staff of a small business, a classroom of kids in school, or to your step-child and grandma to their children. Women bring a powerful and unique type of caring to the world. HMD to all the women out there who keep the world going."
Many fans had mixed responses to Alec’s message. Some fans were happy to see that Alec was including all women in his Mother’s Day message. “I will be sure to share this with my daughter. She longs for a child, and Mother's Day is very difficult, almost as much as being asked why she doesn't have a child. Why is that even a question you ask a women? Thank you for thinking of her,” one fan commented.
However, not everyone appreciated what he was trying to say with his message. “What degrading crap to actual mothers. Bizarre that you haven’t worked it out after two marriages and eight children,” another user wrote. Other fans sent condolences for the loss of Alec’s mother, with one fan writing, “So sorry about you losing your Mom. There is something so sad to the core about the loss of one's Mom!”
Carol Baldwin Passed Away In May 2022
In May 2022, Alec Baldwin took to Instagram to pay tribute to the Baldwin matriarch, Carol Baldwin, who had passed away at the age of 92. “Carol M. Baldwin, the mother of actors Alec, Daniel, William, and Stephen Baldwin and two daughters, Elizabeth and Jane, died today in Syracuse, New York. She was 92,” the “30 Rock” actor wrote in a post that highlighted her life and achievements.
“In 1991, she was diagnosed with breast cancer,” he explained. “After she survived, she joined with a group of Long Island-wide breast cancer support groups to launch an effort with SUNY Stony Brook. With the support of the university’s then president, Shirley Strum Kenny, the Carol M Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund was opened on the campus at Stony Brook. Another chapter was started some years later in cooperation with SUNY Upstate University. The combined efforts have raised millions of dollars for the cause.”
“She spent the last 25 years of her life as a fighter and a champion for the cause to which she devoted her life. We are all enormously proud of her accomplishments,” he concluded. “In addition to her six children, Carol has 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.”
In March 2023, the "Rust" actor shared a message from The Baldwin Fund on Instagram as Women's History Month came to a close.
"Carol M. Baldwin won her battle with breast cancer; she then decided to help other women overcome this vicious disease," they explained. "In 2001, the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY was established.”
“We are determined to find a cure together. We continue Carol's mission daily and honor the legacy she left us. Share your stories with us and help us celebrate these amazing women,” they concluded.
