Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dolly Parton is going electric; the country music legend is releasing a rock and roll album!
Last spring, the 77-year-old was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's class of 2022. Initially, the "Lonely Coming Down" singer rejected her nomination but soon accepted the honor after deciding to consider the institution's fan vote.
Parton's 'HOF' nomination and induction prove that the Dollywood founder has influenced rock and roll, and now she is showcasing rock and roll's influence on her music.
On Tuesday, news broke she will release a rock album!

The Blast covered the news of the "Jolene" singer's nomination and later rejection to be part of the institution's class of 2022.
Parton commemorated her nomination on social media, posting a statement regarding the situation.
"Dolly here!" she began the post, "Even though I am extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I don't feel I have earned that right. I do not want votes to be split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out," Parton wrote.
"I do hope the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will understand and be willing to consider me again- if I'm ever worthy," Parton continued. "This has, however, inspired me to put out a hopefully great rock 'n' roll album at some point in the future, which I have always wanted to do! My husband is a total rock 'n' roll freak and has always encouraged me to do one. I wish all the nominees good luck and thank you again for the compliment. Rock on!"
Parton's statement was soon followed by a word from the 'HOF'; the institution's statement was regarding the news that Parton's withdrawal request had been made too late.
The statement explained in part, "Dolly's nomination, along with the other 16 for the class of 2022, was sent out earlier this month to our 1,200 general ballot voters, the majority of whom are artists themselves, for induction for consideration at our ceremony..."
The institution would add, "We are in awe of Dolly's brilliant talent and pioneering spirit and are proud to have nominated her for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame."
In an interview with CNN, Parton would later expand on her thoughts, saying, "I just feel like I'd be taking away from someone that maybe deserved it, certainly more than me, because I never considered myself a rock artist. But there's more to it than that."
The "Coat Of Many Colors" songstress would soon have a change of heart about the nomination, explaining to NPR she would "Just say 'thanks,' and I'll accept it because the fans vote."
