The 'RHOBH' Star Has Dedicated Quite A Bit Of Her Screentime To Educating And Pointing Out Racism

The Blast has covered quite a bit of Kung-Minkoff's experience as a 'Housewife,' including her difficulties with castmate Sutton Stracke during season 11. Kung-Minkoff joined the cast in 2020.

Regarding her intention to educate her castmates (and perhaps 'RHOBH' viewers) about deeply rooted systemic racism, Kung-Minkoff said, "Racism is a systemic problem. It's a collective problem and should be resolved collectively," she explained, per one of our pieces of coverage. "To move the needle, it has to be done sort of gently; I think people get scared to talk about things, and so they get defensive," she continues, "My point of view is just to share my stories and my parties and my culture, and food. And, you know, if the conversation comes up, I never shy away from it," Kung-Minkoff concluded.

The conversation did come up quite a bit during season 11. Kung-Minkoff and Stracke faced one another over Stracke, allegedly preventing her co-star from sharing her perspective on the subject.

'Housewives' OG Kyle Richards weighed in on the tension in an interview with E! News.

The "Halloween" star defended Stracke and explained, "I think Sutton was initially going through something and was oversensitive and emotional. I think that in the initial conversation, she didn't allow Crystal to express herself and share her feelings, and that kind of set the tone," Richards said. "And you know, after that, I think there were some moments when I think they were both not 100 percent fair with each other." (per The Blast)

Garcelle Beauvais also swept in to defend her co-star; the actress and author expressed her thoughts, sharing her belief Stracke was just "misunderstood."

The "Love Me As I Am" author explained to Hollywood Life, "I think [Stracke] is misunderstood." Beauvais also was adamant in defending her castmate and friend.

"Sutton is not a racist," she added. (per The Blast)

Stracke would apologize to Minkoff, and the duo would eventually take steps to repair their friendship. In May 2021, she posted an apology to her co-star on Instagram.

"Despite my and Crystal's strained relationship at the time, it was disrespectful to interrupt her and not listen to her express her truth. The diversity of my relationships blesses my life, and I am committed to becoming a better listener to understand the painful realities of people of color. I am sorry. I will do better and be better," Stracke's post concludes.

Kung-Minkoff Celebrates AAPHI Heritage Month At The White House!

She posted ten photos and captioned her memories: "When President Biden invites you to celebrate AAPHI Heritage Month at the White House, you say YES!!! And the best part was that I got to do it with my family and closest friends. What a spectacular night I will never forget. They even served boba!" Kung-Minkoff concluded her post.

Last October, Kung-Minkoff confirmed she would be on board to return for season 13! Beauvais and Stracke had also announced their return.
