"Dancing With the Stars" alum Lindsay Arnold and her husband, Samuel Lightner Cusick, welcomed their second child a few days ago.
The professional dancer shared photos of her newborn baby on Instagram, where she capitalized the word "Heaven" in her caption, leading to fans guessing her name was Heaven. However, now Lindsay Arnold is putting those rumors to rest as she officially announced her baby girl's name.
Lindsay Arnold Welcomes Baby Girl Into The World
The former "Dancing With the Stars" pro welcomed her baby girl into the world as she announced she gave birth on May 3, 2023.
"Baby girl is here, and we are so in love," she wrote alongside a photo of herself, her husband, and their newborn child. "Mama and baby are healthy, and we are soaking up every minute with our little piece of Heaven 💕 thank you for all the love we will share more soon 💕."
Now, she has announced her baby girl's name in a new Instagram post. "June Cusick 💕 5/3/23. 5lbs 7 oz," she wrote on Instagram.
"Our sweet and tiny girl joined our family May 3rd in the afternoon, and we have been on cloud nine ever since 🥹," she began to explain before adding, "Contractions started for me early that morning at 38 weeks five days pregnant (just one day earlier than when I went into labor with Sage) the contractions started strong but then in the late morning slowed down quite a bit."
Arnold said she went for a walk, took her first child, Sage, to dance class, and then finished some last-minute work things, all while contracting every 25 minutes. Later that afternoon, the contractions picked up, so she called her husband, Sam, who rushed home.
"I called Sam, and he raced home from work. We dropped Sage off at my parent's house and headed to the hospital! By the time I got there, contractions were consistently two min apart and VERY intense," she wrote.
Lindsay Arnold Has A C-Section
The now mother of two went on to explain why she had a C-section with June, writing, "They checked my dilation and I was at 4cm, checked baby girl's position and she was still breech (had been breech since 30 weeks), so they called my dr, and he said it was time to get the baby girl out and move forward with a c section."
She then revealed June came out with her bottom first, explaining she could watch most of the delivery through a plastic curtain, which she couldn't see with her first daughter, Sage.
"When it was time for her head to come out, that's when we could see that the cord was wrapped around baby girl's neck," Arnold wrote, which explains why she was breech. "It was tough for them to pull her head out, and the cord was compressing around her neck as they pulled. When they finally got her head out, they quickly unraveled the cord, and it was wrapped around our sweet girl's neck six times. Terrifying and shocking moment for everyone in the room," she continued to explain on Instagram.
"They quickly and effectively worked on getting baby girl breathing and alert, which took a few minutes... those minutes felt like forever, but we are so blessed that baby girl came to and started breathing on her own," she added.
Both Lindsay Arnold and June are happy and healthy. Congratulations to the Cusick Family.
