Bam Margera has stated that he and Nicole Boyd never made their union legal amid their separation battle. The former couple had a wedding ceremony in Iceland, featured in a now-deleted YouTube video.
Boyd filed for separation earlier this year, as seen in an exclusive report by The Blast, and asked the court to grant spousal support. She also asked for full custody of their 5-year-old son, Phoenix, and requested that Margera be placed on supervised visits "with a professional monitor."

Bam Margera Claims He Never Legally Married Nicole Boyd
According to official court documents obtained by People Magazine, Bam Margera is seeking to dismiss Nicole Boyd's legal separation request. Margera argued in the papers that he and Boyd have "never been married, legally or otherwise."
He wrote, "To my knowledge, Boyd has never legally changed her name in any state to 'Nicole Margera.' Every driver's license or another form of identification I have seen Boyd possess bears the name 'Nicole Boyd.'"
Margera and Boyd did have a wedding ceremony in Iceland in 2013, and footage of the festivities was featured in a now-deleted video on Margera's YouTube channel. However, it's not confirmed if the "Viva La Bam" alum and Boyd ever got a marriage license registered in America.
They Had An Unsteady Relationship
According to the court documents, Margera claims that he and Boyd had a tough, "turbulent and unstable" relationship over ten years together. He also wrote that they had broken up multiple times, during which Boyd would "leave my home and go stay with her family in California."
The stuntman wrote, "However, Boyd would always return to Pennsylvania soon after that, and we would resume our dating relationship." Regarding their Iceland wedding, Margera wrote that he was fully aware and understood that they "were not married." He added, "Boyd told me she also knew and understood that we were not married."
In Margera's documents, he also accused Boyd of moving her and Phoenix to California so she could use the putative marriage laws there to her advantage instead of Pennsylvania. In her defense, Boyd's lawyer, David Glass, told Page Six, "Nikki continued to live in California with Phoenix while Bam has bounced around – living in Florida, living in California, and for a few weeks, being back in Pennsylvania. California is the only venue for this divorce action."
Nicole Boyd Responds To Bam Margera's Claim
Boyd responded to Margera's claims through her attorney, David Glass, who spoke to Page Six. He said, "As an initial matter, it was not until recently that Nikki heard Bam's claim that they were never married. She was told that the wedding would occur in Iceland and that it was all taken care of."
Glass claimed that Boyd "lived like a married couple with Bam for years" because she thought they were married. He noted that her belief "in good faith" and their time together makes her a "putative spouse" under California marriage laws.
As such, the model and photographer should be entitled to file for a legal separation from Margera. He also noted that she's "entitled to a division of property and spousal support, in addition to child custody and support."
Why Nicole Boyd Filed For Legal Separation From Bam Margera
Boyd filed for legal separation earlier this year and, in her filings, cited "irreconcilable differences." She also requested that the court grant her spousal support from Margera. Shortly after news of her move to separate from Margera made headlines, her attorney revealed that she filed the papers because of Margera's "inappropriate" behavior in front of their son, Phoenix.
Glass explained that Margera was constantly under the influence and misbehaving in front of their five-year-old. She said this forced her to choose to protect herself and Phoenix from Margera.
Margera was recently in the news after his elder brother, singer Jess, claimed on Twitter that he was addicted to meth and on the run from police. The former "Jackass" star eventually surrendered to the authorities. He also made a video taking up Lamar Odom on his offer to admit him for free into his rehab center to get treatment.
