Over the next 36 years, the institution has inaugurated several artists and musicians by honoring them with ceremonies and preserving bits of their legacy via The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio, which opened its doors in the fall of 1995.

Each year the 'HOF' lists a number of artists and rock and roll contributors who are then voted into yearly 'classes' as determined by "rock historians," as per Brittanica. In recent years the public have been granted access via online voting; the final list of artist nominees are released for fans to vote on their favorites after being vetted by a panel of experts.
