In honor of National Infertility Awareness Week, Sydel Curry-Lee shared an overview of her fertility journey on social media.

Currently pregnant with her second child, Curry-Lee has been open and honest with her followers about her fertility struggles, hoping that it helps others who can relate to not feel so alone.

National Infertility Awareness Week is April 23-29, intended to bring awareness of infertility, which isn't always discussed openly. According to RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, "NIAW, founded by RESOLVE in 1989, became a federally recognized health observance by the Department of Health and Human Services in 2010."

Curry-Lee, a mental health advocate and social media influencer, has been transparent about her infertility struggles and shared a video on Instagram in honor of the week.

She captioned the video, "The days of wondering if we will ever have the family we yearn for. Hearing others ask if we should 'just take it as a sign to go another route.' Infertility is one of the toughest things to go through, but every battle to the goal is worth it! I remember those trenches," she wrote.

"I remember those tears and fears. I still face them to this day. So if you are in the depths, wondering, 'Will it ever happen for me?' I hold your heart through this & I pray that whatever the outcome may bring, most of all, you find peace."

She concluded her caption with the hashtags #nationalinfertilityweek and #ivf.

"I don't know what I would do if I went to the doctor and I found out that there was something wrong with me and I couldn't have a baby," she said at the beginning of her video. She then shared a montage of videos showing the infertility process and its emotions.

Many of Curry-Lee's followers could relate to her fertility struggles and were grateful for her openness.

"I love this. Your transparency is beautiful and does so much to help others. Congrats on your family and new addition, while I go to YouTube and re-watch the video of you telling fam and friends you're pregnant with Daxon, 😢❤️" one person wrote.

One person said seeing this gave her hope. "Whewwww 😢 Thank you for sharing your story with us ❤️ It's seeing things like this that gives me hope❤️."

Another follower also understands the struggle and wrote, "Currently in the depths of "will this ever happen for me" 😪 Your story is so inspiring!!! You are such a beautiful person."

Sydel Curry-Lee Announced Her Second Pregnancy In March

At the end of March, Curry-Lee announced that she was expecting her second child and is due in August. Her son Daxon, with husband Damion Lee, who plays in the NBA for the Phoenix Suns, was born in November 2021 through IVF. Their second child, a girl, was also conceived with the help of IVF.

Many of her loyal followers were so excited about her big news.

"Theeeee sweetest announcement! My heart is exploding for you, Sydel! Congrats, fam!💞💞💞💞💞," one person wrote. Another added, "Was here for your journey with your first. So special, congrats to you and your whole fam."

Curry-Lee has been open about her fertility struggles with her social media followers. In a video posted in June 2021, Curry-Lee gave a small look into her challenging journey to get pregnant with her son.

Her caption explained that she wanted to share some of what she's gone through because it wasn't public knowledge then.

"I dealt with this in private (off social media) for many reasons & thankful that I did because, whew, the hormones 😓. It was hands down one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do, but it wasn't impossible. I learned so much about myself and could recognize on a deeper level how blessed I am with the support system in my corner," she wrote.

Many of her followers could relate to her journey.

"Awww!!! I did IVF, too, at 26! It seems like you're alone when you're that young going through it, but you're not alone. Congratulations on the baby" wrote one person.

Another added, "Thank you for sharing. So many go through this process in silence, which can be heartbreaking. The struggle is real..."
