Meghan Markle has secured another bag after she left Royal life behind!
The Duchess of Sussex has signed with a top talent agency representing more than a few of Hollywood's most notable talents. The firm's team allegedly representing her includes Hollywood agent Ari Emanuel and others who have already been representing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Serena Williams.
Meghan Markle's New Deal With THIS Talent Agency Has Sparked An Online Jubilation
WME has come out on top in a bid to sign Markle following her and her husband, Prince Harry's arrival in California in 2020. The powerhouse agency confirmed the news of the signing in a social media post captioned:
"We are honored to announce that WME now represents Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in all areas. The agency will be focusing on building out her business ventures across multiple facets of the agency and its broader ecosystem, including film and television production, brand partnerships, and more."
As expected, the news caught traction, with people liking and commenting. One such person who commented wrote, "Yes!!!!! Good for her! My girl is about to thrive and live her best life. I love this so much for her!"
Another enthusiastic fan typed, "Soooo when's the debut?! Are we getting her at the White House correspondence dinner or MET?!" A third Instagram user noted it was a "Big Win for both sides," adding, "Go off, Princess Meghan!" "Amazing news. Meghan Markle is amazing. I love her and can't wait to support all of her endeavors," a fourth netizen gushed.
Amid the celebratory atmosphere, PEOPLE reported that WME had outbid rival agencies in the deal, including them representing the Duke and Duchess's Archewell media company. The lovebirds started the organization after retiring as 'senior working royals' and ensured it had a nonprofit called Archewell Foundation.
According to the website, the nonprofit was founded to "unleash the power of compassion to drive systemic cultural change." As for WME, it is worth noting that it launched in 1898 as the William Morris Agency, boasting an "unparalleled list of artists and content creators."
So far, its clientele features a range of big names across entertainment and sports, such as Matt Damon, Rihanna, Ben Affleck, Denzel Washington, Christian Bale, and Hugh Jackman. The update comes after Markle disclosed that she intended to make romantic comedies.
The NAACP Image Award Recipient Opted Out Of Upcoming Coronation Ceremony
In a twist some saw coming, news broke that the Duchess might not be attending the upcoming coronation of King Charles III, even though her husband was set to. As reported by The Blast, the decision not to participate in the ceremony, slated for May 6, could have resulted from The Firm not addressing parts of her concerns.
The list included the mother-of-two's dissatisfaction with how they dealt with bullying allegations against her and the institution's neglect when she felt suicidal. She has also allegedly complained of "unconscious bias" in the royal family.
They were part of what the former "Suits" star is said to have written in a letter she sent to the King following the reverberating wake of her March 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview.
In a shocking move, Markle told the talk show boss that when she tried looking for help with feeling suicidal, the institution stopped her. In the words of the "Married... with Children" alum:
"I went to the institution, and I said that I needed to go somewhere to get help. I said I'd never felt this way before and needed to go somewhere. And I was told that I couldn't and wouldn't be good for the institution."
The already-strained relationship between the Royal family and the Sussexes became even worse after the couple's documentary premiered on Netflix last December. Barely a month after, Harry's "unfiltered accounts" of his life came out with the title "Spare."
The idea of seeing these new developments might have influenced the King's decision not to pay attention to the "Horrible Bosses" star's previously listed issues, leaving her upset.
This explains why there are speculations that Markle would prefer to stay home with Archie and his little sister, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor since the ceremony shared the same date as her son's fourth birthday.
